Just wondering if anyone has a set (as in front and rears) of 17" RL7's which they would consider selling. I've got tired of trying to get some from the usual suspects (eBay vendors who either want the earth or don't respond to simple queries. . .) Anyway, not too fussed about condition or even those needing minor repair work, with or without tyres and I'm happy to sort a courier.

I probably want the earth but have RL7's in reasonable shape with year old zero mile tyres on them

I can't quite reach to the earth but I can offer the moon on a stick. Tell me more (via a PM).

Despite some misleading information, as far as I'm aware both front and rear 17" RL7 are the same size (although I believe the 18" are 8J and 9J).

Interesting - I'd read somewhere that the fronts should have a chamfered inner lip (perhaps to clear the TRE/wishbone?) and when I enquired with one breaker he said they had Front and Rears in stock.

I have 1 front and 2 rears, good condition with legal rubber, not after a lot. If useful for you drop me a PM.

Does the chamfered inner lip appear before or after you fit them?

Actually that's very interesting, does anyone have a photo to illustrate?

Are RL7s the standard Cerbera OE wheel? (forgive my ignorance)

Depends what you mean by standard and what year.

16" Saturns would probably be termed as standard, although the 18" Spiders became the norm if not the standard later.

Mine's an early '98 and unmolested (wheel wise).
I'm familiar with the spider type on later cars, just wondered what mine were.
Apologies for the hijack!

I should probably offer my spare set of RL7s to a better home. I bought them (form you, ukkid??) a couple of years ago to fit track day tyres to but then the arse fell out of the oil industry and disposable income to burn tyres dried up, so they're still in my garage. They're all round but need a refurb due to flaking coating. The fronts are bare, the rears have old Bridgestone S02s but they are so old they'll want replaced.

The RL7s were standard on early 4.5s up to the 2000 facelift, they were then replaced with Spiders.

I use 17 inch RL7s all round as road wheels. Never noticed a chamfer on then, maybe I have four rear wheels?

I am looking for a pair of 18" x 9" RL7s if anyone has a pair they want to sell.?

I've finally managed to gather a full set of RL7s. I bought Shanksy87's 3 rear wheels at a very reasonable price (thanks again Alex) and also bought the last two fronts from Bell Hill. . . after the first two he sent went AWOL.

Looking at the two different wheels I think the ones I've bought as 'fronts' make more sense to be 'rears' and vice versa. . .

Front (with what is described as a chamfer. . .)

and Rear

Now the 'front' to me makes more sense to be a 'rear' if you see what I mean. Supposedly the front wheels should have a different outer rim for clearance purposes (whether this be to clear wishbone/TRE/ARB or whatever - I've not put them on the car yet!)

What do the assembled masses think?

All the wheels I have are stamped the same size and offset and part numbers etc. from what I can see - but to finally put it to bed - there are two types of RL7's!

The bigger chamfer is for the front.

It may be a case of 'What they had to hand' ?

My fronts have a chamfer.

and the rears....

As far as I know, all original on my 98 4.5
