Hi all, I'm about to order a set of gaz gold pros and would appreciate advice on spring rates front and rear. I have a 96 4.2 with RL7s and 40 profile tyres, I don't want it too stiff as it only gets used for Sunday driving with my little boy. So if anyone has any suggestions or advice that would be great.

I have gone for 650/450 but with Nitrons.

Firm but not too hard and give a very smooth ride.

Yes, but you take your car on track Martin, Nitrons give the capability of softening off the damping for the road, and that looks more track orientated to me, at least at the front. I think my favourite TVR racer has 800 lb springs on the front of his Chimaera, but then race tracks are billiard table smooth and he wants to brake hard without front end dive.
Ok, a Chimaera isn't a Cerbera, but the cars are similar weights and design in many ways.
Before I went all out for a stiffer front track setting, I had 375 front and 325 rear on my Chimaera and it was fine on the road.

Does the Cerbera come with adjustable dampers, and/or does the OP have adjustables?

Thanks guys, the springs and dampers on my car now are shot with the front springs coilbound. I opted for a set of gaz gold pros with 425 front and 325 rear but after reading other posts I'm a bit worried about them being too soft. To be honest I have no idea about suspension settings, being the only Cerb I have ever driven I thought my car was fine until told otherwise by the professionals. I was suggested the above spring rates by them too and I do really trust these guys but then I used the search on here and now I'm confused. So I was hoping someone has the same as above and could recommend them cheers.

Read Incognegro's post from the 4th Deceber on this thread.

Because of the longer wheel base the Cerbera responds to spring ratings differently than a Chim.

I have Nitron's with their default spring which I think is 400/325. With everything backed off it is very comfy without feeling loose.

When I had the Protechs serviced I decided to upgrade the springs too and went to 450/400. For me the dampers still need to be at least 80% to get a decent ride. Still feels like a grand tourer even at that. Definitely could have gone with harder springs.

Tyre sidewalls also make a big difference. One of my Chimaera friends has just switched from Toyo T1Rs to Uniroyal Rainsport 3s. Not adjusted his dampers, but is amazed how the ride has changed and how much smoother it is,

He was even more amazed how the car now sticks to the road in the pouring rain., but that's a different story. Over the moon is an understatement!

Contact Jools, Harry and tell him your requirements.

He'll point you in the right direction. (Pardon the pun)

Joolz has just done me a set of Protechs on 325lb rear and 400lb front - on the softer side for the sort of roads we have here oop North. Also moving to 17" RL7's from the toffee Spiders. Haven't tried it yet though due to the brine covered roads. . .
