Ummmmmm, is it me or can you NOT order the correct offset or PCD ?

(I know that I'm dumb)
You can..

If you were going to run 8.5" square, et40 up front would be fine, could probably go as far as et32 out back.

Don't go for the square ones!

I run 40 profile tyres on the front, I think they're 225 and not 215, would need to check. Clearance is a bit tight at the trailing edge but ok. Perhaps I've got banana wishbones like ukkid smile

The bolas are much stronger than the chocolate spiders which are renouned for buckling. I've been waiting for the bola supplier to come back to me with the correct off sets for th Tamora 33/40mm etc which they haven't But they're a little off and as mentioned in a previous post with the bola configuration....as mentioned they aren't specifically a replacement just a stronger similar wheel to the poor quality spider...hey ho the search continues...... Thanks for all the input guys even though I have a Tamora my absolute all time favourite TVR is the Cerbera...its just not a convertible grumpy

These were the wheels I referred to in the other thread.

Are you going 8-inch wide at the front? If you're going 8.5 then a tweak to the offset would be needed no?

225/40/18 or 205/50/16 all round on my Tamora.
Already on 225/40 R1Rs I raised the front suspension initially then refabed the F/R inner aches... the rears because I was running 255/35 R1Rs thendropped the suspension on the front back down t factory ride heights and got TvR in Clitheroe to do the geo. now there's no rubbing and the car is handle as spec.

So, given that my 2001 4.5 runs 8.5 42/33 the answer is, in fact, No
Thanks for confirming thumbup

They are not original fitment sizes.

Sorry, I should have said 'original' instead of 'correct' in my first post.

The demon tweeks website lets you order any offset from 25 to 45.

It's a shame they come in sets of four, I wouldn't mind 9.5 on the back and 8.5 on the front. Anyone want to go halves on a couple of sets of gunmetal?

What widths are the SP12s, 8 front and 8.5 rear?

8" and 9"

I'm running 8.25" et36's up front with 235/40 tyres and no rubbing.

Thanks. What is the offset of the SP12 9" rear wheel? I'm guessing not 36.

Interesting, thanks again. That seems quite low. The 8.5" spider "rears" are ET33 and they are notorious for rubbing the outer wheelarch, but the outside face of a 9" ET36 should be ~3mm further out than that. scratchchin

edit: since the 9" wheels are ~12mm wider, or 6mm wider each side, but the offset is only 3mm more, hence outside face sticks out 3mm more. ET39 9" should give roughly the same outside face as ET33 8.5"

What's the consensus on the best offset for the Bolas? For 8.5" fronts, ET42 is the same as front spiders and the same centreline as the SP12s so that's a good start (same scrub radius). For the rears, I was thinking ET45 for the 9.5". Not sure if that would rub the inside.

Personally I would go et38 up front, and et42 out back..

Iirc later Cerbs had modified rear hubs to run Spiders without rubbing.. (Don't think I am making that up! laugh )

Here's a couple of previous threads with a few comments on width and ET sizes worth a read:
http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&a...
http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&a...

IMHO the Compomotives that Longbow was running were my favorite choice but the f****ers don't produce one of the sizes any more as they are not common.
Longbow's comments: "the fronts are 8" wide and ET40 and the rears are 9" wide and ET40 also. If I were ordering again I would probably drop to ET35 on the fronts, as this pic shows there is plenty of room for them to space out a bit more"

I have 9.25" et36 out back with 255/40 tyres and it *just* catches very slightly under compression (just enough to polish the writing on the sidewall), and I run my Cerb lower than standard.

This is a copy of the email I got when I enquired about these wheels

Good afternoon, we have supplied this wheel for the Cerbera and the specs that we sent was 8.5x18 ET42 and this fitted without any issues.

A guy on the Facebook groups did some work with them and got them made for his Cerb as per the original spiders (but wit et42 all round as that's what most cerbs use). The gains he's seen over originals is wight saving and then being built stronger.

With regards to widths personally I'd go for the sp12 set up of 8j et42 front and 9j et35 rear (I swapped my spiders for this and it was one of the best mods so far... but my Cerb runs Tuscan offsets by the way wink )
