As a new Cerb owner I am keen to start compiling a list of equivalent part numbers. I know the Cerbera is the first TVR to run an in-house manufactured engine, but there must have been a fair bit of parts bin raiding, especially the more mundane consumable items, like filters, belts, bulbs etc. I have done a search but have not come up with much so not sure if anyone has done this before?

In fact does anyone know any part numbers for the belts on early 4.2 fitted with aircon, TVR and any alternative manufatureres part nos?

See list so far at:

I think Graham was planning to include something like this on the Cerbera Register at www.tvr-cerbera.com

Sure he'll be able to confirm/deny and suggest alternative if I'm wide of the mark.

Possibly the most important thread since jools et al took a pair of scissors to the inlet trumpets, or Mark decided lucas was a bit weedy.

But I fear people run out of puff with this sort of thread. I've seen a few start but they don't seem to go far.

Point taken Julian, I'm willing to tabulate whatever people can come up with, even if its not much, anything you can source from Halfords or your local high street accessory shop has got to save a few bob and inconvenience in the long run!
For example, I could have sworn someone figured out the make and equivalent part number for the infamous starter motor, someone else in Australia was of the opinion that the AP clutch plate is same as C5 Corvette, these are gems worth knowing!

I can add more but here are a couple of good part numbers .

Mintex brake pads :

Front MDB1292
Rear MLB20

I recommend 1155's .

Magnecor 8.5mm leads part no. 8522

Here's a good one . Lambda sensors Intermotor part no. 16339

This is a cracking idea, could it not be made a sticky and then people can add to it as and when .

The central locking motors can be bought from Maplins for a lot less than TVR want for the same.

Being a new owner, I could well be wrong, but the previous owner told me that the starter motor for my '98 4.5 is off a Nissan ZX300. Not sure of the year, but no doubt in a couple of weeks I'll be able to find out first hand
Also, I believe that most of the wiring is made from wet string, and that the majority of the connectors are made of cheese. Do you sense an air of disappointment there? Cars gone back to the dealer to sort a multitude of minor electrical annoyances, and I've had it less than a week.

I'm also more than happy to add a table of the finds to my web-site until the TCR has it's own version ?

The brake fluid resevior has Ford stamped into it, although I've never worked out from which model it is from.....

Chaps, excellent response so far.
Ted, would it be ok to make this a sticky so people can add to this as, and when. As soon as I get back from Le Mans I (or anyone else who fancies it) can start putting the info in and html table that can be accessible via a link.

IIRC the coil packs for the AJP8 are from a 1996 Citroen ZX 1.6i, 2 required.

The Land Rover part number for the Oxygen sensors is ERR 6729. They are used on Range Rover Classic, Discovery, and of course Griffs and Chims.
