Leak? More like swimming pool!

I've got a massive leak in the drivers footwell. It seems to be coming from the lower right hand side, about 4 inches from the manual door release handle as this is the only part of the side carpet that is wet. Any ideas before I have to start wearing trunks to drive?

It could be the door needs sealing, or the door rubbers are not letting water out.

To seal the door...split the door in half (a few allen screws around the sides and bottom, get some mastic and make sure the holes for the wiring are well sealed on the inner half, when you reassemble make sure you seal the bit of rubber at the top of the door near the front of the window.

Next check the door rubber, have a look at the bottom nead the front there might be a cut out to let the water drain away, if so make sure it is clear.

Is this a new leak? Are you parking the car facing up hill?

It's been leaking for a few weeks and, its parked drivers side near a wall, so I can't understand how water is getting in. I expect I then need to reseal the door afterwards?

I ve had exactly the same problem with my "P" plate 4.2
Problem was a perished (and partly missing) seal. It was the one at the bottom of the pillar (sorry not very mechiancally minded)where it meets the door itself. Got it replaced and problem seems to have gone away
