I've not got mine yet, but are there any independents in or close to Dorset that I can look to for servicing, etc in the future.

I'll second all the good comments about Andy at APM.. top bloke, really helpful, really knows his stuff.

Call him and he'll give you directions to the shed in the middle of the field somewhere near Liphook! Passfield Common or something like that?

Well Paul Stratford at Mole Valley, Redhill (that's the place where they service Cerberas I understand) was most helpful over the phone, so I've booked my 4.2 '97 Cerbera in for a health-check and once-over

Cinman - personal choice I know but how come you are going main dealer? Is it convenience, experience, recommendation, value, knowledge etc?
I am going to keep getting mine seen to by APM the indie but to ensure that you dont feel that I am saving loads of dosh and getting a better service I am going to burn bundles of cash this weekend.

From Epsom I would shoot down the A3 to Haslemere ish I guess and then to Liphook. 1/2 hrs drive or so?

I am not his agent - just a satisfied customer who has used various TVR garages over the last 5 yrs or so (Redhill, Henley, Fernies and now APM). I havent had any problems with the previous garages and wouldnt advise against their use. But I would suggest that if you are after guaranteed value, service, expertise etc then APM is your man. IMHO

I've cracked ... and having read so many good things about APM I've now arranged to bring it down there Sat 26th for a going over (and cancelled MV as a result).

Thank you all for your advice - it's much appreciated, and I'll report back on my experience for info.

Sure, I'll feedback - no problems. I notice from looking at the location on Streetmap.co.uk that it's in the middle of nowhere (or to be politically correct, in a "rural location" :-) I can get there via A3, past Hindhead then off at Liphook/Bramshot, or what looks a little easier is A3 then A31 then off at Farnham all the way down ... what with it being out in the sticks, is one route more drivable than the other (want to avoid potholed, crappy local farm roads that'll bugger up the suspension, cover the motor in horse-sh*t and make for an unpleasant drive?)
;-)

The drive via Haslemere via Liphook is v easy. Only time you need to be careful is in the drive way at the business park as it has sleeping policemen.

I'm taking my 4.5 into APM for a service next week. First time for me, but it seems I made the right choice.

went with scottb to drop his car off last Saturday - just go strsight down the A3 to Liphook turnoff. Follow road left into Liphook. Take 3rd exit (sharp right) at first roundabout. Follow back over A3 and continue for about 1-2 miles. You'll come into Passfield, through the main part of village (big village green on RHS), then Passfield Mill is signposted on your right. Sleeping policemen are well fed so take care. At the bottom of the hill, there is a sign/map showing all the units - APM is in Unit 7, which is round to your left into a car park area, Andy's unit is on the right at the end of this open area (no signs, just a rectangular unit with big door on the left hand end!!).

I'm there next Saturday morning if that's when you're dropping off.

cheers

Chris

As promised a while ago we would share feedback on our APM experiences – here’s mine

I picked up my car on Friday from Andy – the Tuscan had major handling problems which he has sorted 100% - its like driving a different car than the one I left with him

What really bugs me now is this is after being told the car was perfect by MV on a pre purchase check. In fact all 4 wheels were pointing in differing directions which I thought you would pick up in a pre purchase check costing £350!!! grrrr

I also wanted to fit new cans which Andy could have slapped on for me but recommended sleeving the cans which saved me hundred with the same result – very loud!!

All in all top marks - saved me a lot of money, great service and does the best job for the car - not just to make money

Would recommend to anyone looking for a great independent
