I know that Phil's car left here with 413bhp and was subsequently tested on another dyno dynamics dyno at WRC and made 380-something ..

Shame Cyclones car wasn't tested independantly as well,it would have shown his car producing around 385bhp which is more realistic when you look at the mods that were done to it.I had my motor tested on two different rollers and it showed in fourth gear there was only 5bhp in it....Discuss.......

laughSour Grapes?

It was tested on Surrey Rolling Road, Nobles and at Track Car Solutions while I owned itrolleyes

Read the threads if you can be bothered it's all there, full explanation, graphs, Q&A, blah, blah, blah............unlike certain others who just posted up pipe dream figures done on a questionable rolling road that has since been replaced.

Grow up and let it lie.

[bold]For someone who had a very sick 330bhp Cerb and who's car went on to gain 90bhp! you just go to prove that fiction can be fun!.[/bold]

You are either a wind up merchant or just plain ignorant.

Yet again I will point you in the right direction, for the record, wheh I first bought the car I took it to the Surrey Rolling Road Day in March 2005, along with about 21 other Cerbs (15 4.5's). My car totally standard made 339.6bhp and 338.6lb/ft torque, the average of all of the 4.5's was................................wait for it.....

343bhp and 333lb/ft

So my car as standard when compared to all of the other 14 4.5 Cerbs was just over 3bhp down on power, but just over 5lb/ft up on torque, so pretty much an average 4.5 on the day.

On the day it had an unmapped Emerald fitted and that put power up to 375bhp and 368lb/ft (went on the rollers about an hour after it's first run), not unbelieveable?

Here's the thread, read it just to remind yourself - www.pistonheads.co.uk/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&t=162381&r=1922351&hm=27881#1922351

How many of the owners on there have had their Cerbs remapped since then and seen gains upto 400bhp with just a remap and Induction.......quite a few.

A couple of weeks later the car was remapped with the Emerald to push power upto 390bhp, again not unbelievable and in line with all of the other remapped cars.

The car then had Whirlwind hoses fitted and with no further mapping made 398bhp, again in line with all the others that have had this mod.

A couple of weeks later the car was mapped with the Whirlwind hoses and made 406bhp, again in line with most of the other cars that ran a remap and induction kit.

Here's a bit more reading for you... - www.pistonheads.co.uk/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&t=223033

Do you want me to go on and on and on?? Since then manifolds, linked decats, hi-flow filter, bespoke exhaust, etc etc.....

And here's a bit more - www.pistonheads.co.uk/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&t=282272

Finally, there are quite a few other Cerbs that run similar spec to mine with similar results, BossCerb, Satman, Fubar, TimACT.....................

Jules.

Thanks Gary, I forgot about that one, but that's still not good enough for some people, even though I was half a second quicker than the next Cerb (Red Rose) and all of my runs were quicker than any other TVR on the day.

Seems some people just choose to bury their head in the sand even when confronted with a mountain of independant evidence and real-world tarmac-eating drag race figures.
Was good to read your threads again though Jules, I don't know anyone else who's gone into their cerbera tuning with such openness and clarity.

Yes he has and as per usual I fell for it. But as the car has a new owner the last thing he wants to read is that it *had* a sick engine that only produced 330bhp, what bullshit. It's just not necessary.

Jules.

I've done my own research Jules and I'm happy with what I read. I've also been around a lot of car forums, including PH (even though I have only registered with the current name recently) so I can spot an open-and-honest post vs "the other type".

Sounds superb, any pics.

I still think that a system with a bore of 2.5" from the cats back into 3" tail pipes will be even better, both from a sound and definitely from a performance perspective.

Does the exhaust note change from 3500rpm?

Jules.

Jules, both the ACT and SP systems are 2.25" bore, why do you think 2.5" will be even better. Just curious.

Steve.

Still just about hanging onto mine!...hmm..scratchchin...maybe i should go for a 2.5 inch bore exhaust, and see if i can release a few more ponies from my standard, non red rose 4.5...
