I know this has probably been covered many times but just wanted some advice on a few enhancements for my 4.5.

I want to get a sports exhaust fitted and wanted to know who would be the best person to purchase and fit it from around my area (N.E London). I don't mind travelling a few miles but not hundreds. How long does it take to fit? Is it a while-U-wait job? And I've heard of prices varying from 300 to 700 quid. Are there varying qualities and makes and models, if so, what's been the prefered ones?

Also, I wanted to fit clear indicators to it, I know you can do this yourself but I'm rubbish at stuff like this and will lose my patience if it's fiddly. Any recommendations on who to fit them and costs involved??

On the audio side of things, I spoke to a company near me who have kitted out Cerbera's before (had to ask that one first) and they have recommneded the JL Audio range. Has anyone had any JL gear fitted or experience on this brand. I have heard they are good quality.

Very grateful for any advice.

The JL stuff is top quality, a favorite of the rice boys and the Saxo-Corsa Brigade. Excellent Subs and Amps. As for the clear indicators, well I'm not sure about the front but if you go to Halfords and buy the clear OEM side indicators for a Ford Fiesta then they just slot in and for fourteen pounds

From where you are its worth a trip to Joolz isn't it?

However.. decatting is cheap and easy and gives a fabulous rasp without becoming unbearable on a long trip.

The front indicators have been covered elsewhere. It is an easy but fiddly job.

I know Joolz is the man for work on Cerbera's but I think Derbyshire maybe a bit too far to go. Saying that, if it's a while-u-wait job to fit an exhaust, I might consider driving that far. Thanks beej.

The side indicators look pretty easy to do and could do them myself but not sure I want the agro that may come with the front ones. How about Andy at APM? I think that's not too far from me, will he be able to supply and fit a sports exhaust too?

Yep, Andy will be fine with fitting a sports exhaust....in fact I've just got a quote from him for fitting one to my Cerbie ! (if it ever comes back from Blackpool that is).

Bandit, do you mind me asking how much you've been quoted for??

Big T -

Better not give out exact price as it may not be fair to Andy.

...I can tell you it was right at the very cheap end of your £300-£700 estimate.

Give him a bell - 01420 473931 / 07740 723673

Andy has just fitted an ACT sports exhaust to my S6 - sounds wonderful - and the price was good too, in the lower end of your range.

Castle can supply you a sports exhaust. They offered me one on the new car! Be careful as it might affect your warranty though? Failing that Offord Motors do sports pipes, suspension, decat or any of that malarky. Good blokes too. (Useful when they're half a mile up the road from my house!) It'll be a 140 mile round trip drive for you though. There're threads on the subject of decating. Many think this is the way to go as it improves the sound and prevents you murdering the cats in day to day motoring leaving them nice and efficient for MOT time. That'll be useful as your first MOT'll be in 14 months time. Unless you've sold her by then. Of course decating is alot cheaper too. Fitting clear indicators could result in you needing paint work as they are bonded in. The side repeaters are a doddle though.

ps Decating is not strictly legal by the way!

Cheers Washy,

I did go to Offord Motors website a little while ago and saw that they were very reasonable with their Servicing costs and considered them for any work if it was alot cheaper than Castle. I think the quote from Castle re the sports exhaust was pretty high compared to what others have been quoted. Didn't know about the Warranty issue though, I'll double check with my policy. I've got time anyway to think about Decat or Sports.

Had a look at my baby yesterday and a bit undecided on the clear indicators option. I quite like the standard ones as well. I might just go for the DIY job on the sides and leave the fronts alone.

At least I've got a couple of people to try now which aren't too far for me (APM & Offord).

Thanks for all the advice chaps.
