Bit of cross posting from Le Mans forum, hope you don't mind!

Off to Le Mans and have got a bit of a convoy going, unfortunately we are getting severely outnumbered by Tuscans!! So this is a call for any Cerbera owners for a bit of back up....

We're on the 10.59am Eurotunnel on Thursday morning, and so far the convoy comprises

Cerbera 4.5 (me!!)
Tuscan S
Tuscan RR
Tuscan
Tuscan
T350c
Ferrari 360
Lambo Diablo
996
993
Maserati 3200GT

We're meeting for lunch at 1pm just outside Boulogne if you're on a different boat/train and could hook up for what's going to be an awesome sounding convoy!!

Oh, and my brother Miles (T350c) has a spare seat in his car for any brave soul with a strong constitution (see www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?t=37721&f=7&h=0 for a clue!!)

cheers
Sean

I'd give anything to be going in a Cerbera - sadly it will have to be next year for me.

Did the Le Mans run for 13 straight years and saw the glorious Jag victories of 1988 etc. and can't wait to take a Cerbera next year. Counting the days to getting the car and doing the drive.

Have a great time!

Wish I could but have already agreed to join a mate in his Jag and am leaving the Cerb at home. As a TVR and Lemans first timer wasnt sure about taking it this year but will be on the crossing a similar time to you so will try and hook up with your excellent sounding convoy.

I know Ill regret not taking it before you rub it in.

Sean -

I'm taking the Lancashire Rocket, but going via Cherbourg on Thur. night. I know your car (looked at it when buying mine), so I'll look out for you around Le Mans - we are in Houx Annexe. Presume Jason didnt include the plate in the price!

If you see ** RKT (Imperial Blue 4.2, pod lights and spiders) with 3 northern cuffers + baggage weighing it down, then give us a wave!

Cheers,
Tommo

Matthew - there's still time to fire up the Cerb!!

will look out for the purring feline at Folkestone - you should have no problem finding us - just listen out for the earthquake approaching up the slip road!

If we don't see you UK side, you're still welcome to join us for lunch - Cafe Jules in Desvres, 15km SE of Boulogne on the D314 - about 1pm local time.

is that an 8am train or boat? if boat, then we might stand a chance of catching you up (unless one of the Tuscans breaks down, that is )

Looks like just about every TVR gang except us is staying in Houx Annexe - I've been for the last 7 years but never even knew about it!! We're obviously complete pikeys as we usually just turn up at Garage Vert, pay our 20Euros for a car park space and pitch the tents right there!! We'll be the drunken ones on the Bugatti circuit near the Dunlop bridge - see you there

cheers

correct - now wearing a V plate thanks to DVLA incompetence!!

you'll find us lying in a pool of Kronenbourg on the Bugatti circuit (Garage Vert) near the Dunlop bridge - bar will be open 24 hours, naturally!

horror is indeed the right word - I feel truly sorry for you, having to swap a Cerb and an MR2 Turbo for TWO of these monsters???!!! I fear for the sanity of any PHer forced to do this........

anyway, welcome to join us for a beer or two to commiserate....

MSG from the Ratpac (www.theratpac.com)we're going down on the wed, we went on the Thursday last year which was cool - lots of fast road antics , but we struggled to find a decent pitch on arrival!.

If you can make it (the more the merrier) it would be good to meet up and thunder down.

P.S. make sure you bring your water pistols

I'm driving down on the Friday (very early morning) in my Cerbera with my mates skyline following. I've been a passenger for the previous 3 years so really looking forward to the drive.

Little worried about reliability but hey if the worst happens I'll come back in a Green Flag recovery truck (done it before!).

Yes, please!

I would love to join you in my Cerb..but may have a Tamora or Tuscan by then. I was going through the mag last night and marking all the events on the calender. It looks like I am going to be able to make pretty much everything this year! (Shuttleworth, Le Mans, PF and Goodwood).

It looks like I need to get my 10.59am Eurotunnel booked if there is one still available.

You will have to forgive my ignorance but do you need to pre-book the camping spots / tickets etc...
I have never been and am really excited. As usual I left things very late. Any advice from people who have been before would be great.

Thanks

Tony

nice one tony!

worthwhile getting your train ticket sorted soonish - another mate just did this on www.eurotunnel.com but got quoted £350, but called them on 08705 353535 and got it reduced to £150 - just need to mention that lots of others who've booked recently have paid between £125 and £135.

no need to worry about tickets, we buy these on arrival and get a discount with ACO membership. Camping for our lot is al fresco in Garage Vert, so no need to book this either.

Two things are worth sorting - Grandstand ticket for Euro77 in Grandstand 15 (Esses) - Go to www.lemans.org
click on the Ticket office (Left Hand Menu)
Click on the orange "Booking - 24 heures du Mans 2003" (middle of the page)
Order a ticket for GRANDSTAND: 15 (LA FORET)

...and joining the ACO - English speaking telephone hotline on 00 33 243 40 25 40

let us know if you're definitely coming

cheers

Nice one. I just spoke to TVRCC - everyone booked through them in January - ha ha!

I shall let you know within 24hrs what tickets I have managed to acquire etc... I hope I can get the same Eurotunnel. The lady at TVRCC said ALL the ferries are now booked solid and they taking cancellations only.

Could you clarify the camping arragements you have made again? Garages Vert?

I'm sorting the eurotunnel now...

You should run atravel club Sean - I couldn't have hoped for better instructions on getting Le Mansed.
Any advice on essential equipment for Le Mans (apart from a TVR)?

Cheers
