Door/Mirror buttons
Discussion
Hi,
The driver's door button (external, under the mirror) was working intermittantly and has now stopped all together. All the other buttons are fine. I've looked through some old posts and it looks straight forward to replace, but I still have 2 questions?
1. Where can I get a replacement button?
2. How exactly does one 'gently pop the mirror glass out?
Thanks!

This means you've got a Cerb now then?
The glass just pulls off. Get something behind it [in gap round glass] and just lever it out. The class 'shouldnt' break as it is on a plastic backing, which is the bit that clips in. It's a bit daunting levering the glass out, but that's it - it should just pop out with its backing. From there, the switch can be unscrewed. I seem to recall that the wires need to be soldered to the new switch as opposed to coming with connections, but I could be wrong.
Switch came from local TVR dealer, but it looks like a commodity item that you could pick up from a decent electrical/electronics supplier.

Thanks William, I was looking for some reassurance before making that leap of faith and levering the glass out. I guess once its out it'll be obvious how it goes back in?
Yep, got the cerb 5 weeks ago and have done about 3.8k miles so far, inlcuding Le Mans. You'll be pleased to hear its bright yellow like your old one.
How is your new project?
