Noticed this morning that my "Door, Boot Lock Switch and Door System Status LED" is flashing rapidly when I arm the alarm. My owners manaul states:

"it flashes rapidly when there is a fault"

geez - that's helpful!

I have opened both doors and boot and reclosed. It still flashes when I arm the alarm.

The doors and boot are indeed locked, so it's not doing this due to me having left something open.

Any ideas?

Mine does exactly the same, so don't think it is a fault, the handbook also says that the indicators flash 3 times when you arm it. Mine and most others i know flash 4 times, handbooks are great aren't they!!

Mine has a heated screen, absolutley no mention whatsover in the book, really helpful that!!!

My indicators flash once for disarm, twice for armed. Not sure if this means it's all working OK or not, but there is an extra electrical box in the little cubby hole beneath the stereo (along with no ashtray - just a leather panel???), so I'm guessing the alarm system's been changed. ('99 V plate, if anyone elses is similar) The status LED flashes continually when locked/armed too. Anyway, it's in being serviced at the moment, so if anyone's interested, I'll feedback whatever I'm told.

Mine, a 4.2 also flashes 4 times when set and the green central locking led flashes fast, but all seems ok.

Cheers for the feedback folks. The strange thing about this is that the status LED flashing rapidly is a new thing - as in it has only just started doing it.

I'll call the dealer tomorrow and expect the "they all do that Sir" reply!

Mines the same but only recently noticed it late at nightas it needs to be really dark to see it.. The alarm (window led) and Interior immob led flash red, about the same pace and the green internal door switch is very rapid. But everything seems locked and dandy. As soon as you unlock it stops. I think its normal.

Not sure it's "normal" in my case as it definitely only just started doing it. Spoke to my dealer and he thinks (having yet to see the car) that it may be connected to one of the door/boot sensors - i.e. it thinks it is not closed properly, but in fact is.

No big deal really as the car is definitely secure and locked. Will mean the battery will drain fractionally quicker if I am away and can't drive the car though.
