I am having some fun with my headlights at present and am hoping that someone knows the answer.

When I am on main beam and press the t*t to go onto full beam, the lights go back onto side lights. I am told that this is what is supposed to happen as part of the process to pull up the full beam. Only no full
beam appears. When I go to flash (with all lights turned off) also nothing happens but last night when I was trying to suss out the problem they worked (briefly), so the bulbs are okay.

All the other functions on the steering wheel work fine.

I have checked the fuses and these are okay.

I also tried switching the dim/main control unit in the boot with another but no difference, so it can't be that.

Does anybody know what I can do next.

Could be the ribbon that connects the wheel buttons with their various functions. This is bent every time you turn the wheel and eventually fractures. Had mine replaced ehen my headlights went dicky for around £95.

I agree with ocean1, had a problem with my wipers coming on by themselves a couple of weeks ago. Turned out to be the insulation on the black cable which connects to the ribbon behind the steering wheel had worn, causing a short. A couple of bits of insulation tape and the problem was sorted. The wire which comes from the main beam switch was also beginning to wear, so put some tape on that too, prevention better than cure!!!! Hope this helps.

I've got the 4 headlamp conversion thingy, and the main beam didnt work. The side lights worked and so did full beam, but no headlights. Checked the light control module on the fuel tank and a connection was burnt out, replaced the connection and hey presto, headlamps. Might not be the same as your problem but worth checking eh?
