It's defo a Cerb. The TV footage showed the body on.

There's certainly front driveshafts and it looks like the central back bone of the car has been heavily modified to fit that massive gearbox.

Would like to see the exhaust routing as that looks like a pretty tricky task!

It was on the bbc website when Z-cars was featured having built a completely useless bat mobile.

Definitely a Cerb, slightly modified chassis, Cerb body with later headlight mod, Kirkey seats inside and proper roll cage. RB26 engine which they expect to be pushing out 650bhp, with 4WD gear.

They also have the stuff up at Zs to make their own manifolds and exhausts, so I'm sure that won't be too much of a problem.

Last I heard it was close to completion.

I was wondering if 4wd could be done yesterday whilst driving back in the pissing rain from Exeter on Monday.

I know it would be a crime to remove the AJP, but wouldn't RS4 engine and running gear be interesting.

You can already buy cars like this, I think they're made by Audi and called, errmm..Oh yeah, RS4.

PS - I think I've done pretty well not to bite till now biggrin

well it'll probably be like the skyline, but incredibly lighter. 800 HP with no weight, despite 4WD it will be a handful!

i've been in a few Datsuns with that kin of power, and to be honest, it looks like a big single so they'll be some lag. but hilarious to watch and hear!

Z-cars facilities look rather impressive, but have to agree with Gazzab - not quite so impressed with their finger crossing.

there's always an element of finger crossing when you're doing a one-off though. not even NASA get it right first time every time wink

very true...

does someone have a picture of this cerbera.. For me its a fascinating project...

tvr were not allowed to evolve .. if we imagine tvr 10 years into the future they may well have taken the 4wd route..

the cerb was particularly futuristic for 1996 and if you look at the evolution of porsche and ferrari early ferraris were very poorly built but ferrari were given time and money to evolve to where they are today.

I watched The Fast & the Furious Tokyo Drift bks, or whatever it was called, the other night and coincidentally they came up with an equally strange concoction, they put a Skyline engine in a classic 60s fastback mustang shell for the grand finale race up Mount Fuji!
