The light on mine has always been really dim, and like you say its a pain in the arse to see. I did take the panel out to see if it could be changed, but its soldered onto the board....so put it straight back again!!!!!!

Mines always been dim and I struggle to see if its on.
As crazycats mentioned, its not a straightforward bulb.
Markys also found out yesterday, as hes having the same problems regarding his MIL light.

Mine shines brightly when it's OFF and brightly when it's ON. Same with the heater.Since the air con takes a wee while to come through, watch the rev limiter dip or rise when you switch it on and off.

Mine was the same and could hardly see if it was on or off in daylight.
Its very easy to solder in a new LED and takes about 10 mins to do. Replacement LEDs can be purchased from places like Maplin and RS for a quid or so.

I can do Crazycats but your running more of a risk of damage in the post than having a go yourself!!

If you would like me to do this for you, drop me an e mail via my profile.

Cheers,

Matt.
