Trying to move into Cerb ownership with my eyes open, and was wondering if there are any independents who do servicing in the Herts/Essex areas?

Currently looking at spending £16-18k on a private sale, or around £20k at a dealer. Saw (and drove) a couple at Castle TVR in Stansted yesterday -- 12 months warranty looks good but the servicing costs could be cheaper...

I suppose I could always take it to Joospeed and make a weekend of it.

Any thoughts on the usefulness of the 'TVR' warranty?

There's always Topcats racing near Aylesbury www.topcatsracing.com/ as another option

Down in Essex, you might also want to give CDL Racing a call.

Depends what you are looking for in a dealer.
Ours is always helpful, always tries to get our car done asap, provides a courtesy car if available and IMO does a good job.

At the moment, you are looking for a Cerb (not the easiest car in the world to purchase as you are finding!.....would you be happier with one with a full service history....a fully stamped up book?

Most people, whilst not perhaps regarding that as a necessity, would feel happier knowing the car has been looked after.

Castles do a great job of looking after our Cerbera.

Well, you're right -- they certainly seem to know their TVRs.

Am I right in saying there are only two sorts of service -- the 6k and the 12k? Most of the cars I've ever owned have had complex service intervals with at least half a dozen types of service.

Yes thats right and they need at least one service every 12 months. Some cars with low miles have missed the annual service.

Yes....service requirements are 6 12 & 24.

Castle's now have Michael Caine on board.

I have yet to persuade him to visit us at the Mid Essex TVRcc regional meet.

I hope you will pay us a visit Carl when you eventually purchase your Cerb...
