Hello all. I own the car in question. I would like to put a couple of points to rest as you all seem to know more than me!

I just quckly added the major receipts up and they come to £13,057.75p, one thousand pounds more than I stated. Plus I have another £1,500+ worth of odds and sods receipts.

The advert also says ‘ONO’ next to the price, although I have had several very positive enquiries already, maybe I should have advertised it for more!

I am also curious to know how many people on these forums actually ‘own’ a Cerbera…

Thanks all.
So does £13K worth of receipts mean that it has had over £12K of extras or over £12k worth of work including extras.
Think this has been a very positive advert for your car. Chill

Am I alone in thinking it odd that an AJP 4.2 would need a rebuild with (presumably) less than 30,000 miles on it?

...and a new gearbox too??

Only a bit concerned as my 4.5 has about 28,000 miles on it now, and all I've needed recently is a new clutch.

...and I too think £22,750 for a 97 4.2 looks a bit steep - I paid over a grand less than that for my 99 4.5 with 23K on it at the start of this year.

My brother bought a 98 4.2 with £15K worth of bills (this one www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?f=6&h=&t=52421 ) in September for £18K!!

looks good in that colour mind... Scotty, any interest?

cheers
sean

I think you lost a sale with the 'not as fast as mine' quote elsewhere mate

its hard to find a good 4.5 though for good money

it would have been a better buy at £19,995 when it was advertised in sprint mag.....

Cerbera 4.5 98/R Halcyon Atlantis with Portland grey interior. A/C, kick plates, Multi CD unit, new tyres, shock absorbers and cats. 40k miles. FTVRSH. No track use. Genuine reason for sale. Offers around £19,995.

Ouch that hurt I bought it to run and to sell as I knew the car and thought it was a great buy - shoot me for making a living

Well someones got to pay for the Louis Vuitton trinkets I'd have said, well now you can buy in on simple finance with a warrenty, and of course you're spent £££'s doing all the little things that needed doing

no offence meant James (sorry if it came across that way) for peace of mind and warranty etc its not an expensive car for what you are asking

I spotted it a few months ago in sprint and just thought it was a good price at that point in time but some people are happy to buy privately and some don’t which is why it probably never sold.....

Scott no problem at all,

It cost me more to drive it down from Aberdeen than fly up there to get it Still with a top speed in excess of 170mph I suppose fuel consumption wasn't going to be it's strong point, I did have a most excellent drive too

I seem to be having a real warmth towards the Cerbera 4500 at present, we do well with them and the torque is incredible...it also helps having Julian up the road to make them even better examples.

I think my favorite one recently was the one with a sports exhaust and de catted My wife was not quite so fond of it as I was... I might just tinker with our 4500
