Can this ECU be programmed to allow the engine to run on 95 RON fuel like the RR cars?

Also will the upgrade increase fuel efficiency due to less overfuelling? (PS. I am a simpleton in these matters!...)

Joolz' info about block mapping is spot on (as usual) you know! I have "observed" more than one Cerbie on the rollers, and noted that the power and torque go up like a staircase.

All the power dips correspond to massive lumps in the fuelling map. It is obvious that this can be significantly improved!

Note that throttle angle metered systems are notoriously tricky to set up, and are generally considered suitable only for racing use (as if you care ). If possible the best option would always be to take the car to Joolz or Austec for a custom setup.

So can the fuelling map be altered independantly or is it part of the ECU upgrade?

To be fair to Paul, it was he who fed me the block mapping info.
Actually if you download the mapping using easimap5 there's alot of sites not mapped at all, just relying on interpolation to fill the best guess gaps .. the sites that are mapped are done in this block styleeeeeee!!

Joos, when I tried to read the map with easimap five you just get garbage back. The standard configuration files arn't right for the Cerb. Which config file are you using?

Not been on PH for while, but glad I've taken a few minutes out to read this!

Time to joint the queue, methinks.

Your getting garbage back because you are seeing an encrypted hex number, as far as i know development with this is coming on nicely, wont be long now before its ready to go. 25-30bhp anyone?

if its encrypted, (and I don't think it is), then noone would be able to read it with easimap 5 as there is no facility in the program for decryption that I have found.

correct, you can read it in grid form, 3d graphically etc .. you just need the right config file.

Hello u guys, I am new here but I know a bit about electronics, messing about with ECU's requires ESD precautions, let the boys earn their money & sort u out unless u r ready 2 ground yourself & sort the job out, U may think it is b*ll but u can pass 10.000 volts through a chip if u aint grounded! the chip might function 4 a while but stress is a killer, do u want 2 drive or watch?

Paul does play with the set up when he can AFAIK. One of the 'trial' cars is in and out all the time, well more in than out , not sure how mcuh time he's got to play with it at the moment though, like you they are very busy.

Only kidding jools, no real rush. I would imagine such things take a fair bit of work.

Just interested to see how things have progressed.

Don't forget there is the Emerald version, but it's much more expensive. Might be worth a try for those with extra deep pockets though?
