Spiders on the Cerb

Are they all 'front' spiders. I assume not. So you may well have the wrong wheels for the back and the wrong tyres from the front. Although some cerbs can get away with rear spiders.
To be honest Im not sure, they were off a saggy? I just got them thrown on, only realised a day after they were too wide on the frontKiller Rhubarb said:

You want 255 35 18 on rear and 225 35 18 on the front. You can get away with 40s sometimes or even 235 35 on the front.
You will need stop locks on the front to stop the inside edge of the wheel rubbing on the wishbones. These are chamfered (sp?) edged plastic things that go on the steering rack to limit the turning circle slightly.

I am not sure what issues it causes ie whether it is rubbing (or not, if you get away with it) or whether it is an offset issue. I am sure others will know better than me.
It's an offset issue. The 'fronts' are ET 42 but the 'rears' are ET35. Both fronts and rears are 8.5" wide. The main thing this causes is rubbing. The higher offset (fronts) are less likely to rub on the rear arches. Having said that I got away with it. Since fitted SP12's which are miles better.Edited by ro_butler on Tuesday 22 June 01:18

SP automotive to get the locks? Thanks mateYou want 255 35 18 on rear and 225 35 18 on the front. You can get away with 40s sometimes or even 235 35 on the front.

Ummmm, sorry to add to this so far down the line but you do know that the wheels have the giveaway stamps "front" and "rear" on the inside of the bosses should you have any doubts.......
and, as you can see, my sets have a 33mm offset on the rear.
Hope that's not too late to help.
Hi, I've measured a set of RL 17s off the car: the offset isn't stamped on the inside and all of the wheels have both the same rim width and the same offset.and, as you can see, my sets have a 33mm offset on the rear.
Hope that's not too late to help.
They are 8J x 17 with a 41mm offset (calculated by measuring the overall width of the wheel, 9", and subtracting half of that from the distance from the outside of the rim to the hub face, 6 and 1/8th", giving 1 and 5/8", or 41mm.) The PCD is the traditional english 4.5" or 114.3mm. So with the wider rim you may well need spacers whatever the offset.

You'd best check all of the wheel widths and offsets before deciding which way round to put them on your car and which tyres, wheel spacers and stop locks to buy.
YOU just need to put those wheels stamped 'front' at the front. You will need the right tyres (per earlier post) and you will need stop locks. On the rear you will either need a set of 'fronts' OR you might be lucky and get the rears to fit or you might need to grind or possibly you will need to find some 'fronts'.
