Nice ,but to me when you are spending this sort of money you really need to be buying exactly the car you want,do not buy something you are 70% happy with at this money.
thanks to all of your replies...... guess i'm getting impatient having had the lambobrum deal fall through and missed out on the grey one jperformance had as a result also!!!!

i know what i defo want... coupe, low miles, fsh, 06 onwards
extras that are almost essential.... glass engine cover, e gear (for resale purposes), non standard wheels
desirable.... titanium calisto wheels, two tone interior, calipers to suit wheels/colour of car, warranty
colours... nero/yellow/orange/lime/grigio
icing on the cake.... recent clutch/tyres, lifting gear

this orange car needs 4 new tyres (still on original tyres!!), and spec is as listed, main dealer s/h...... need to keep telling myself patience is a virtue..

the last two at jp are sold and gone....

the second one was owned in its mid life by a footballer who didn't get it serviced, which is fair enough if you want to service every 7000 or so miles as recommended.....

the first one.... i thought a stealer had that on sale at a much higher price.... may have been sor and seller has taken back and put on as private sale.... phone call tomorrow i think...

Jperformance seem like they never actually have any cars and just post them on Pistonheads, you call up and they are 'under offer' or the adverts say 'DEPOSITE TAKEN'

Look:

to be honest i have spoken to jan several times now and even for this car i had the option to buy before it sold within 24hrs.....

one day he will have i car i intend to buy over the phone, and then we will see...

When I sold mine privately I got ZERO calls on the car when priced over £90k, as soon as I dropped it to £88k no offers it sold the next day for the full asking price.

On a related subject I wonder what the thoughts are of discussing sale prices of cars on here so specifically, Understand forums are for help but people throwing their 2p worth in as I just did can harm a private sale, Are dealers more fair game than private sale to disucss prices or should it make no difference ? im undecided !
i think its okay to discuss as i haven;t given you all the facts and we don;t know all the facts..... don;t know what the dealer let it go for, and i haven;t revealed the price i've negiotiated.... so you are simply discussing sticker price, which is very helpful indeed.....

ultimately, you are stating an opinion, it is up to me to make or break the deal based on what i think, so keep the comments coming... a friend in need is a friend indeed, and i need ur opinions...

nice car matt, but to get one in the 'right' colour, i would probably have to wait til the fall...

on that notion, do coupe prices fall significantly in autumn/winter?

I personally don't think the extra few horsepower and lower gearing makes the 06 car worth so much more than a similar mileage pre-06 car. I have driven both and noticed little difference, but perhaps that's just me.
batman, what has been your experience as you have now lived with both?

thanks mate, great feedback....

unless a perfect spec 04/05 comes up at a cracking price, i'll continue to persue an 06...
i've got another very long week as the seller of the car i'm after is away!! why me all the time...

i agree with you, changes are likely to be subtle, the 03/04 was never a bad model, got good reviews at launch, so upgrades were going to be minor...

enjoy sunday, is meant to be a belter!!

ps. did your legacy that a better car would come up 2 weeks later come true, or have you stopped looking at the classifieds.

so as not to hijack frank's thread about what his car is worth..... on a similar note then, having brought from a dealer weeks ago, what hit would you expect to take trading back in or selling privately shortly after, allowing for fact that you can transfer the warranty?

Not to sure about that, a trader I deal with was offered this car today, he's looking at an Audi apparently, so can't be away. Did you not get the PPI done?

don;t make sense to me, i've offered 87k for the car, if it passes a ppi with emblem...

he will never get that sort of money on p/ex, whatever car he is trading into....

makes u wander if cars been kerbed etc soon after purchase, hence he wants rid, and would rather take less money from a stealer given they won;t ask for a ppi first...

all this assumes the car was offerred today by said vendor..... wtf!

No callisto's but clear engine bay etc... smile
this was the car i was going to buy via lambobrum, 83k with service, prep, 1 yr warranty and apollo wheels swapped in by lambobrum....but the seller decided he wanted much more for it....
and choose to sell himself..... car is overdue a service, major one at that, and spec isn;t superb....
if the price was right, i would buy it.... but even 80 unserviced is too much imho....i tried a private deal, he wouldn;t budge below 83..... c'est la vie

ps thinking of selling yours?
