...why would you buy a 400k plate ant not put it on your car? It has been spotted plenty of times on the road?
Most likely simply stuck on the cars and if stopped he’ll do the old "we've sent the docs to the DVLA to have it put on / taken off retention" or “Sorry, my trade plates are in the boot” routine

No - the idiot that owns Project Khan bought it.
I'm guessing that he's got more in the kitty litter than you and I together - or at least living a lifestyle commensurate with it so I'd be hesitant in calling him an idiot.

At least, one could grant him exceptional insight in the 'taste' of a select but wealthy customer base and knowing how to cater for it. smile

That would be about right. I used to work there and that is exactly what we used to do.... He still owns F1 and has the retention certificate safely tucked away. No idea who it is in the F430 but not the owner of the plate.

Jordan bought a Vogue from him recently so wouldn't be surprised if he talked her into buying the Veyron rather than some fancy rental, as that really isn't something he is interested in (having tried to convince him to do something similar with footballers). Also, in my time there we never once wrapped a car, it was always properly re-sprayed so will be interesting to see what happens with this one. He was gagging to do something with the white one but wouldn't commit to anything without a customer for it first.

Haven't spoken to him very recently but wouldn't be surprised if he lent Petra the car / plate as she was on to him a lot soon after he bought it but could never agree a deal on it. I genuinely had to turn down another offer of £1.6m for the plate within a month of buying it as he had taken about 3 years to buy it and wanted to use it for himself for a while.

As for her, she has earnt a shed load of cash and she can do with it as she pleases. Not like a car can't be re-sprayed etc.

Might give him a buzz this weekend to try and find out the definitive details of this story.....

Oh, and for the "idiot who owns Project Kahn" comment - I wouldn't mind swapping debit cards with him.......... ;-)

Kahn hasn’t sold her diddley, car will be wrapped in pink and driven by her a few times, before going back to Kahn, wrap removed and sold on . . . . . both of them get publicity that would cost a whole heap more than a wrap and a few tanks of fuel
Katie: "ooh that sounds good. Can I have that fk I plate as well?"

So, he was offered £1.2 m for the F1 plate months after paying 375k for it & turned it down?

Firstly that seems a touch odd for a very astute Business man, also where were the mega bids for the plate when it (very publicly) went to auction?

He just wanted to keep it as it took him so long to buy it and saw it as a better long term investment rather than a "quick flip". Oh and it was £375k + VAT so not quite such a crazy decision to hang on to it when he could afford to :-). As for the public auction, you have to remember that whilst there are a lot of people on this site etc who move in the supercar circles and have their finger on the pulse as to whats being sold, where and when, there are probably more who aren't so inclined and these things pass them by until they appear in "retail" circles.

In a similar vein, we bought a nice plate at a DVLA auction for circa £40k and sold it to a private client for £250k, as he just loved to spend obscene money for the sake of it. (bought an SLR, RR Vogue, Phantom, Bentley GT, Brabus S Class, Murcielargo and 3 private plates in a fairly short space of time).

Ashley1111 - Just wondering if the private buyer could be the infamous, Scott Alexander? The guy who was on 'Britain's biggest spenders' tv programme. I remember he had an SLR, Murcielago and a Kahn Range Rover on the programme.

Pretty sure you'll find it is.

If I was a betting man, I expect the numberplate was 1 CEO.

Hammer price was £36,000 in September 2006.

1) You can be a rich idiot - they aren't mutually exclusive wink The man talks nonsense whenever he is interviewed IMO.

2) "select but wealthy customer base" - if you mean drug dealers who need to get rid of their cash...then yes he can cater for them very well. Fair play to him.

The cynic in me wonders if she has bought this car at all. Seems coincidental that she is visiting Leeds for a 'record' book signing, and at the same time just happens to pop down to Kahn nearby to buy a Veyron and then have it sprayed pink. Sounds like another publicity stunt with Price and Kahn getting more column inches and websites talking about them.....
You would be 100% correct in your assumptions.

A chap on another forum I use is chief fitter at Kahns and he was saying that she was only there to collect her Range Rover that had just been fitted with a larger sound system, she merely sat in the Veyron. It isnt for sale at all.

Price is a master class in Marketing, as shown by the Price/Jordan personas.

Fair play to her - she's made stloads of cash from it.

What I've not quite understood, however, is why she is seen as a bit of a slag. AIUI, her tally of notches on the bed post isn't that great in reality. I know plenty of decent women that have had more partners than she has.

I wonder what Ralf makes of it all these days?

Taken from another forum where a guy who works there told,

"nothing but lies in that story, the veyron is afzals, not hers, the thing doesnt even leave the show room lol i did sniff her seat, and it smelt like a seat, tasted like it too... my boss enjoys playing on twitter as he has only just descovered it, soon he might find face book too...

i did meet her, she seemed like a decent enough person, just like every other person ive met with alot of money, and she is a midget too"

"yep thats right, its not even hers, afzal sold the white one (the one that did the hot lap on top gear) and bought that one, normaly theres a cordon around it so kids and all there "bros" cant put their grubby hands all over it but we had to "make the showroom look mint" for when she arrived... we've just finished her vogue with a 6.5K JL audio sound system in it... and no, it sounds pants, so its coming out again lol "

So I guess it's just another publicity stunt after her record breaking book sighning failure.

Step 2: replace with rubbish with no idea what you are doing acoustically

Step 3: charge customer £6.5k

Step 4: declare it rubbish and say it needs more work
