OK, so say if you had to replace your pride and joy with a car which is below £20k, what would you go for ??
(Mainly aimed at the Mas, Fez and Lambo drivers !)
- although not to be biased !

Just curious as to what you guys would own ???

I think, I would buy one of the last of the Lancia Delta Integrale Evo III's. They look great and are just " different "

I've been having a think about this recently, although I'm thinking of upgrading to £20k. I've currently got a 208 GT4 which has been pretty trouble free following a major (and I mean major!) service last year.

I've been looking at the following:

Honda NSX - Would appreciate views on this
Porsche 928 - Too unreliable in my experience
Ferrari 308 GT4 - you could get a minter
Ferrari 308 GTB/S - would be wary at <£20k
Ferrari 412 - Would appreciate views on this
Mercedes 500SL - Maybe when I'm older.
Westfield Seight or something equally mad like the Ultima in the classifieds.

One of the following :

Porsche 964
Honda NSX
968 clubsport
mercedes c43 amg / e55 amg
caterham of some description and a daily driver mundano and a trailer.
cerbera 4.5
london taxi
classic maserati like a khamsin / mistral (seen em for well under 20k...)

most probably wouild be the 964 -it's a highly underated 911. (Have to be a coupe)
Love the NSX though.

I like your thinking.... £20k is a touch short, call it £22-23 and you'll bag a 'proper car'. I've eulogised enough on other threads, but thing that made my mind up (apart from getting to look at it every day) is the fact the things so damned useable. As in way more reliable than a £20k 308 with more performance than you'd imagine (I used to think they were probably gonna be slow until I got in one).

---- and you never mentioned the noise!

Ok here on the FML board we're serious connoisseurs of engine timbre, however I still think that the NSX V6 screaming up in vtecland has got to be one of the all time greats.

best ever test drive I had was in an nsx down at john cooper a few years back, sunny may afternoon, 1 year old nsx and a very encouraging mechanic sitting in the passenger seat to 'make sure I thrashed it' - i mean looked after it

Civic Type-R?

Or some guy's trying to sell his 996 in the Porsche forum for around £23k, has done 100k mind, but a good buy if you're not planning on a lot more mileage.

It would have to be something different or it would probably piss you off. If it was me I'd go 208/308GT4, NSX or a Caterham.

Cerbera
Lancia Delta Integrale
Lotus Exige - Pushing it for 20k but they will be soon
Lotus 340R
BMW Z1 - Always liked this. Kills Z3 & Z4 with ease
Lamborghini Espada - Sneaky way into an Italian V12!

Really can't stand driving, cars that aren't raw! What's the point eh?

Might also consider:

Nissan Skyline - hate and love the look of it. Love to test it though.

Evo 6 - rip off these stupid wind deflectors first!

Mini Cooper S - Just to write this one off!!
