Did they ever make a "traditional" manual one of these? You know - 3 pedals?

Missed the details of the ebay listing. Anyone got the pictures or another link?

However when my local Maserati specialist who has looked after my previous 4200 GTs and 3200 GTs found out I'd bought an early QP he said he would have done his best to put me off buying it, interestingly his view toward the Gran Turismo and even the earlier Gran Sports is the complete opposite.
Good post, particulary the above. Intersting that as I run a GS at the moment and thought a QP would be a step up in terms of reliability etc.
Low battery state makes them throw up phantom error codes. Worried owner takes car to specialist. Specialist spends 3 days trying to find/diagnose imaginary fault. Specialist bangs head on wall.

On what basis/experience are you making these assumptions?

I own one and just popped in the garage to check.

To be specific,

from the photographs provided on ebay

bonnet/bumper assembly join midline, gap out. Look at front on pic. (should all be level)

Left hand headlight, large gap above. (gap should be narrower and equal all around)

Parking sensors broken? I wonder how parking sensors get broken being stuck on the front of the bumper.

It sold for £11500. It wasn't on the list it was a genuine car. We saw it as a retailer at £16995. A decent warranty costs £1500, it needed all 4 wheels refurbing, a rear tyre, the nose cone needed paint, the n/s front wing needed paint, both rear wheel arches needed paint, the sills were uneven, there was damage to the interior trim in the rear, the park sensors didn't work and nor did the heater fan.
Just noticed your earlier post. I guess I'm right then.

No, you're wrong, on inspection there was no evidence of previous paint or repair to the front end of the car. It needed paint, yes due to stone chips.

It was the parking sesnor control unit that was faulty. Have you ever seen a line up of QPs and noticed how much the panel gaps vary?

Well they all line up nicely on mine which I've had now for 3.5 years so I know the cars pretty well.Looked at a few before I got mine and seen many afterwards while passing by the main dealer. My car is mint, still looks like new. If you want, post a photo front on of the NS headlight and the bonnet/nose cone join in the centre line. I'll then post mine so you can compare.

How can you be sure that the previous owner hasn't had a 2mph bump while parking which has distorted the nose cone? From the amount of cosmetic damage you describe its obvious that they weren't the worlds best at parking. At the end of the day it 5k cheaper than any other so buyers won't expect a pristine car.

Go for a version with ZF gearbox & Bilstein Suspension (not skyhook). No clutch replacement on the ZF box and you will avoid the potential issues recorded on Skyhook suspension.

Not a cheap car to run but I have a 2008 GT - Sport version (pre-facelift) with the 430 wet sump engine.

I manage 18.8 mpg combined... and I enjoy myself from time to time.
On motorway under cruise control, I achieve 26.1 mpg at 70mph...

My right foot is the most expensive part of the car !!!

Probably not but plenty of other people will appreciate his advice about these cars, I certainly do.

Lovely looking ZF QPV here in a rare colour, I'd be very tempted if my budget was already in place......

I'm sure they will, was just noting the fact it had been 5 years between posts.

I was offered a 2005 QP with less than 20k miles for 8k. Was very tempted as a fun run around!

I've seen the first of this era QP advertised on eBay for under £10k.

Is the duo select that bad / costly ?
