Hi guys, a friend has a GT arriving next week but he wants to sell for a small profit (just over list)... Sunday Times seems the right place to place the ad, do you guys have any further suggestions as to where a car like that can be properly marketed?

Thx in advance.

Try Tom Hartley www.tomhartley.com I have no time for them meself, but others rate them and I know they were looking for Conti GTs a couple of months ago. Tip: don't say you want to sell at a small profit, just say "over list" and see what they offer.

I thought that the premium market in the Conti had gone. Remember that for a dealer to give you, say, £5k over he has to sell on for £10k over to carry the risk of stocking and financing a £120k car. I've played with new cars before and the premium market dries up very quickly - the SL is a good example, after six months it had gone from £10-20k premiums to £10k discounts. Even worse now over two years on!!

If I'm wrong I apologise but I think you will struggle to sell this on for a premium. Can your friend walk away and just lose the deposit? At the very least don't register it or take delivery and try and sell it first.

Sorry!

Does anyone buy new model cars to keep anymore or do they all try to make a quick buck?

Now they have all got Bentleys like Beckham's

Once the Prancing Horse dominated the Manchester United players' car park. Now it is the Flying B Wings.

The sleek and rakish lines of the Ferrari have been replaced by a classic English thoroughbred - the Bentley Continental GT.

Teddy Sheringham, Dwight Yorke and Juan Sebastian Veron once all drove the famous Italian sports car but the old guard has moved on and taken their flashy trademark cars with them.

David Beckham, now plying his trade at Real Madrid, set the new trend last December when he bought his wife Victoria a silver Bentley Continental GT, valued at £140,000, as a Christmas present from their sons Brooklyn and Romeo.

Craftsmen at the Bentley plant in Crewe, Cheshire, put the finishing touches to the couple's vehicle.

The Bentley's dashboard is said to feature a small plaque reading: "To Mummy - Happy Christmas 2003 love from Romeo and Brooklyn."

The couple were driven in a Bentley to Buckingham Palace where the Queen presented the England footballer with an OBE in November.

Now Beckham's millionaire friends still at Old Trafford have followed him upmarket and opted for the Bentley's understated elegance.

Rio Ferdinand, United's record £29 million signing from Leeds, was first off the grid.

With time on his hands when he was banned for eight months after missing an official drugs test, he managed to jump a four-year waiting list and last year became one of the first to own the limited edition car.

He arrived at Manchester United's training ground at Carrington yesterday sitting behind the wheel of his Bentley with team-mate Eric Djemba-Djemba as a front-seat passenger.

Minutes earlier Ryan Giggs, 30, the Welsh international, who earns an estimated £75,000 a week, arrived at the wheel of his silver Auto Coupe. Nicky Butt, currently not a first-choice player and reportedly looking for a new club, arrived last in his metallic green model.

Gary Neville, the United and England full-back, will reputedly be next to join the exclusive Bentley boys' club.

All the footballers arrived yesterday ready for a pre-season tournament in America. The Bentleys will remain safely locked up at the Carrington complex.

Original of them.

Not surprising that some of them like a car with an arse like that mind.

There's a Bentley dealer just round the corner from Old Trafford. I drove past it last month and the window seemed to be full of px's - SL's, 911s etc. Might have all been footballers cars!!
