paulqv said: Excellent Post. Thanks for the info. It is these small pieces of info that help build the picture.
If you have any more inside info please share it with us
Paul We know how many LP400, LP400s, 88.5 and Anniversay came into the UK, but how many 5000S, non-skirted QV and 500S came into the UK? Can you ask your source? Your 16 cars, 14 into the UK 2 for export makes sense from other data. 1 red car came back into the UK, making 15, but the white written off car, the white one now in Malaysia/Singapore makes only 13 left here.

About 10% of the total were originally in the UK.
That would make about 45 QV's and 67 anni's I seem to recall back in 88/89 that due to the prices the cars were fetching that the Uk had a specific allocation of anni's and that was 67 exactly 10%. Would have to dig out all my magazines from then to double check.
I did ask him today and he broadly agreed with my recollection. Only Del has the exact figures all of which are in his attic in his house in Spain. He has refused a few offers to sell all that data.
If i see him over the summer I will ask though.
Paul

i have really enjoyed all the new (to me) info that this thread has thrown up
paul and other owners , the factory still have some of the original build sheets in their archives. i rang and then wrote to them about chassis 12399 about 12 years ago, and they sent me a photocopy of the build sheet
sadly, many build sheets were apparently destroyed during the time that lamborghini was owned by MEGATECH (the indonesian conglomerate that was run by president suharto's son)

Looks like it was a serious crash! Hope no one was too badly hurt. I wonder what the story is behind it? Anyway, such a shame to see an iconic car in such a state

harry metcalfe writing in the november 2011 issue of EVO says "a proper countach QV is now a very rare car, with only 12 examples thought to be in the UK "

Hi the story as I heard it (from someone who claimed to have worked at Portman) is that 16 came in & two went straight to japan, I believe the Japanese are still nuts about them... I'm the current owner of F919 OYR, and she draws attention like nothing else, at a charity event in kenilworth she drew even more attention than the new Mclaren...

Just found out my Countach was on the new Channel 4 series 'In the Best Possible Taste' Didn't bother to speak with me as they were after the Max Power aspect to car culture, but clearly the editor liked the car.

Albeit down at LM which is a home from home anyway: From the Silverstone historic many moons ago: And a very sad LP400 taken at Banks Service Station in the late 80's. Was in a garage fire along with the 280 Pagoda in the foreground and an Aston V8 (just in picture)
