They are going on aswell! Plan is to get back to how it looked when it was raced. You see the back of the car yet? We put all the original bumpers and grills on.
I did spot the grill - guess I had forgotten the lights had been changed out too. I definitely appreciate your desire for achieving originality here. In that vein, do you intend to reposition the nose badge up onto the front bonnet panel? Seems that McLaren placed a stick-on version there and then covered the original with the white 'LARK' graphic. This image clickable for a larger version for reference:

Andy, is the car still road registered now you have returned it to its racing days spec?
Stealing a photo from Mr hurstg01, the number plate is being worn as a sticker at the rear presently:Unless Andy's intentions were to undertake a serious racing effort with the car (and I doubt that) it would be rather foolish to convert it back to a committed racing car. Surely it has retained its road-worthiness through all of this. That's what makes it great - the ability to take to some back roads in a car that was essentially built for the great race tracks of the world.

I love the fact that little snippets of info re decal positioning etc keep coming out on this thread thereby making the restoration to as close to original race spec as possible easy (ish)!
My other half says it is slightly worrying that people have detailed knowledge of decal positioning etc - she doesn't quite get it when it comes to race cars with pedigree.
I told her that originality & getting it right matter a great deal. She just doesn't understand.

That is a stainless steel retro fit exhaust system. The car in race trim would not have had silencers but straight through pipes. Titanium has not been used on an F1 up until now. The only McLaren to date that has a Titanium exhaust rear section is the recently pictured red and white liveried high downforce kitted road car. (Recently pictured during the 20th anniversary tour)

Is it a factory exhaust, as I thought they were Titanium? That one looks too shiny to be TI.

Any updates from the past couple of years?
Where has the last few years gone?Car is still the same! Currently getting its annual service and MOT.
Events the car has done since last post:
Silverstone classic
McLaren tour in Italy
Goodwood Members meet.
Still using it. Managed 3 days on track with the car last year.
P1GTR has joined the F1 now so both will be out and about this summer.
