Saw it today and it looked great, but was very disturbed by the amount of kids and adults that felt the need to run their hands from nose to tail dragging dust into the new paint. It made me winch and I have to say a little angry.
Now I love the up close and personnel nature of the FOS by why can’t people and their kids keep their hands to themselves? Sorry maybe it’s just me being a little anal

No, not just you. I haven't been to FoS this year, but that exact behavior surprised me when I was there previously.. I was brought up never to touch things in shops, let alone other people's property. People will come on here and say "relax, its just a car" and I get that, but if it's not yours is "just a car that's doesn't belong to you or your grubby fingered kids, so keep your hands to yourself"Now I love the up close and personnel nature of the FOS by why can’t people and their kids keep their hands to themselves? Agreed, i got annoyed at some little scrote leaning on my battered up focus diesel, cant imagine what its like watching people touching, if your car was that, i would probably have a heart attack.Nice to see it getting used
That exact car didn't win LM? Thought it was champ winner in Jap GT's? Could be wrong.
As for FoS and people touching the cars, that is the nice thing about Goodwood. You can get up close and personal. It should stay that way. You do need to relax. At the end of the day it's a race car and people won't damage it by getting close and touching it. It's used to doing over 200mph for crying out loud.
Andy, cracking job mate. It looks absolutely superb. That livery just gets better and better...

I wish it was the one that won LM! My one was part of the team that won the Japanese Championship in 1996.As for FoS and people touching the cars, that is the nice thing about Goodwood. Lanzante have down a stunning job of the rebuild, car is absolutely perfect.
Its slightly concerning seeing so many people around the car but I agree thats what Goodwood about and it should stay that way.

Autocar didn't even get the year right on Andy's GTR despite it being written on the sign just above the car in the paddock. Andy's was the fourth 1996-spec F1 GTR built as chassis #13R, the year after McLaren won Le Mans. Along with its sister car, #14R, the two went to Japan and competed in the All Japan GT Championship series in 1996 and won 4 out of 6 races. Andy's car claimed 3 of those victories and would have likely been first in the championship if not for two unfortunate DNFs and a 22nd place in the other races. In the second-to-last race of the season #14R was heavily damaged in a crash and replaced with #04R for the final event where it's 4th place garnered enough points to claim the overall championship with Andy's car second overall.
Today Andy's car and #04R retain the LARK liveries, with #04R remaining in McLaren's possession in full race configuration still. #14R was eventually repaired and has been resprayed in McLaren's iconic orange paint. It is also converted for road use like Andy's car.

I think he is or was one of the dealer's at Dick Lovett. The thing is this video caused a huge fuss at the time because of the obvious high speeds he was doing and the fact that Harris had no seat or seat belts whilst in the car. It not often you see Harris looking scared but he was not happy as you could see and asked the driver to slow down on a number of occasions.
The video was pulled from YouTube and the Drive channel because of the potential repercussions
At one point in the video Harris shouts his christian name, which coupled to the name of the dealer involved...he posts on here, presumably along shortly to confirm or deny...The video was pulled from YouTube and the Drive channel because of the potential repercussions
