look forward to seeing more photos. I assume this is a 2-3 month project.
it only seems like yesterday when the McLaren came out, unbelieveable that its time for e full refurb. Im guessing this will make it the best GTR in private hands.

Did we ever find out if Rowan Atikinson has had his F1 repaired?

There are about 6 weeks left of the build that started before Christmas

The car needs new fuel tanks every 5(?) years and the car has been around since 1996; some of the 'lifed' items would need replacing, and seeing as the fuel tank change is an engine out jobbie and Andy wanted a spruce up to the paintwork etc, it makes sense to get the rest of the car done at the same time. Having seen it up close when it was displayed at Wilton House and at a couple of Goodwood Breakfast club meetings, it was bloody nice then; when its done it's gonna be mind-blowing smile

It's being done, not finished yet smile

Sorry no more pics at moment, will update when get some.

Hurstg01 will answer any questions in the meantime!!!

Rebuild is 8mths+. A lot of parts are sent away to be treated etc. l am also very lucky to have a massive spares package with the car so a lot of items are from personal stock.

Make sure you claim that income on your taxes. wink

Andy - I saw some photos of your spares taken when the car was in Australia. Quite a haul it seemed from the photos and good to know they have stayed with the car through multiple hands since then.

I'm having the lower bumper of my car painted next week and can't wait to see that done. Very minor scuffs, but it bothers me. I can't imagine what you must be like waiting for this! smile

It clearly is the ultimate supercar, love this thread! For anyone with deep pockets, there's a longtail GTR coming up for sale later this year:

Wow, nice one Andy and thanks for posting pics. I've seen it in the flesh and it's wonderful to see such a car loved, cherished and, best of all, driven!

And yet some people in this world can still say "a cars a car, it has four wheels and takes you from A to B"

The f1 is beautiful and an art form, absolutely amazing, and respect to andy for working hard and being able to buy the cars the rest of us dream about.
