288 GTO - are they within the budget?
No chance. Not even an F40 for £300k.

If you can find a 599 GTO for £300k that would be my choice. Unbelieveable car. I had a 670 SV and thought it was a bit old

LP670-4 would get my vote, with the GT not far behind.

I would have to say the Koenigsegg at Supervettura. Incredible performance, rare and (IMHO) you are unlikely to lose much on it

One of the most amazing cars on the planet!
You can get one for a lot less than that.

I would go old school - Ferrari Daytona & a Lancia Delta Integrale for some fun.

Could be wrong but isn't that the old ex-hire car from Rio Prestige in Edinburgh?

1 of only 40 cars made so going to be very good residuals, more road presence than just about anything ever made, and best of all it's British smokin

You said you wanted fun. How about 900bhp & £80k change?

You know as I sit there with the standard 599s meagre 620bhp, I've never thought....bit slow, what this needs is a power boost o 50%!

Not quite, but certainly out of budget. £450K should get you in to one

Slightly different angle here, but you could put your name down for an F12, get an early car, do the 5000 miles and probably not lose more than 15% in the year.

Problem is you would have to wait a year for the car.

In the meantime, Carrera GT should fill the gap. Don't' reckon you'd get an F40 for £300K. If you could, I'd do that or a Koenigsegg for an alternative choice.

I thought a good 288 was closer to three quarters of a million these days (unless you unearth a bargain)?

Has to be a F40.
Can't play that card anymore, they're more expensive than that.

I would go 330GTC and 550 Maranello, or Daytona. But really, the former is the better choice.

You won't get one for £450k unless it has high miles and 'history'.

You'll pay 600+ for low miles, good condition and nice history, perhaps over 700

Was in exactly the same position 4 years ago - bought a CGT and have never looked back.
