Ok, So I'm a regular poster on here, but fancy flying under the radar for discretion purposes. Long term PH fan, opportunity and circumstance have now coincided to make the topic a reality.. As much as we all love our automotive exotica.. when actually faced with the choice, and your own money.. it suddenly becomes much harder. I was lined up on a Carrera GT, however it sold out from under me the day I confirmed. Anyway - enough preamble.. Brief: - Something fun, exciting, poster worthy
- It will be for no more than a year, so It won't lose > 15% inside a year and 5k miles (yes, this will be the fun part and rules out the 458 spiders and Aventadors)
- Something PH worthy..
- You dont have to spend the budget, its a max, not a target.
So gents (and ladies) tell me what single car you would go for, and a brief one lines to sum up just why that particular car sings to you! Over to you! PS: Custard Pictures will follow once the deed is done.

An £80k Murcielago manual. Invest the £220k for three years. Hey presto, you'll have £300k again.
And a free Murci.

And a free Murci. and a flying pig! Please tell me where I can get a £80k car which will depreciate zero and £80k return in 3 years on £220k. Sounds good to me!

If I was actually in that position I would be seriously tempted by an LP670 SV if I could find one. Also don't think you'd lose anything!

A pretty tough question to answer; if you're to only own it for a year then you'll need something relatively easy to move one.
I think even with £300k I'd buy a 360CS and do as many track-days and European jaunts as possible.

With £300k cash for just one car, 599 GTO or the SV Although two cars could be more fun for the same total.

Good call on 599GTO.

A nice 365GTC/4 @ 80k, bank the balance & watch the 365 appreicate while you enjoy it. Obviously, there's other classics (maybe even buy two classics) but reckon you'll get my drift. As blowing all on one car like the Porsche, never mind the upkeep I really think you'd need a windfall of 500k to justify one.

CC8S?
That would truly be king of the road.
Not up on residuals though, that that being as much as I'd spend on a house.

Diablo 6.0. They have stopped depreciating now, but maybe difficult to find one.

If you can find a solid F40, get that. No question, on reflection.

Difficult question. If you could stretch the budget a bit I would say F40/F50. they will cost more but very likely will lose nothing (if you are prepared to lose 15% that is £45k, which pays for a lot of interest) and may even increase in value. You would then have a proper dream car.
I am not certain on 599 GTO keeping their values. Brilliant car but based on 599, which wasn't limited edition, and the new F12 looks like out-performing it by some margin. I am not saying prices will go down but I think there is a reasonable risk.
Scud and CS both brilliant but as based on "cooking" models also not so sure about residuals and neither have the exclusivity of the F40/F50.
Porsche 2.7RS probably a safe bet in terms of value and brilliant to drive. But problem for me is that every other pre-1985 911 is now a 2.7RS rep.
Good dilemma to have!
