My lambo's have always garnered better responses than my Ferrari's.

Kids love the cars lambo or ferrari, its the adults that give a mixed response. Gallardo is definatly more flamboyant. Ferrari's dont seem to get the same response. Maybe because there are more of them. If i could id have a lambo for posing and a ferrari for driving.

In the last month Ive had the pleasure of driving all the cars on your list (apart from the V12 Vantage, Ive driven a V8 though but Aston's really don't do anything for me).
Out of them all I would choose the GT2 without a doubt.
I took a red Club Sport on the Lakes run last month and it was incredible. So powerful, quiet on low revs but when those turbo's spooled up it sounded fantastic, so much grip from the huge rear tyres, just much more fun than any F430 (apart from the Scuderia but that is £40k more), Gallardo or Aston that I have driven yet.
If you go for a Club Sport it also feels like such an occasion when you get in and tighten those harnesses, then look in the rear view mirror to see that big yellow cage.
In short, yes, go for a GT2.

Hadn't realised 599s had dropped below £100k, tempting. That engine would be fantastic, but I've never thought the looks were up there with the other cars that have been mentioned. Not sure I'd go with a classic, I think the potential one off repair bill could outweigh the lack of depreciation.

Are the last of the Audi / Diablos more reliable? (out of touch a bit) deprecation proof, reliable, massive occasion, doubt it'd be disappointing in the supercar stakes. knowing your not loosing financially in the deprecation will help with keeping her in tip top.

JMC1 said: Love the BB personally but surely there's at least 10-15k of dealer markup here. You lose that the second you hit 'send' on the BACS transfer.

Well certainly not in grey thats for sure ! The thing with the 599 is that more than other cars you mustn't look at the pictures. Unless you have a very good photographer at hand photos will never get across the real shape of the 599, that is the distinct rising shape to the cabin and the very butch and masculine shoulders of the car. In real life it's a very imposing car and in the right colour the best looking ferrari since the CS imo and easily the equal of the others. For me it's genuine senior league and makes all the other cars in your list look like boys toys. Not driven the V12V but the G and R8 just aren't good enough to drive for me. Accomplished yes, good yes, but not memorable esp. when it comes to the steering and control weights. The F430 comfortably aces them both on all counts. The GT2 is blown so a whole other bag (which might be your thing or not) and it also has less jewelerry/feel good/pose factor than the others which for a weekend 'supercar' is probably quite important. I'd get a 599, 360CS or F430 ... probably in thet aorder too. Have fun test driving them all though. There is absolutely no sibstitute for doing this all in your own time and the beauty is that everything that you write and read and believe goes out the window when you sample these cars for yourself.

Personally I would probably go for a V12V, but I am seriously operating in a fantasy land.

Aren't there just so many things that make an impractical and unnecessary car purchase seem positively sensible? Ah what a wonderful life it really is!
