I don't swear by anybody. I only offer my opinions based on The facts presented to me. I'm sure you will find people who dislike dk too. So what's your point here exactly?

That's a very expansive reply. So perhaps you would like to explain in more detail?

Your profile says your a Ferrari specialist, I'm curious as to why you would come on here singing DK engineerings praises?

And slating a 'rival' company on a public forum is not very professional...and you only look worse for it.

Erm, hold on. I never called them utter crap. But I have seen a few cars from there that were. If you bothered to read my previous post I said that perhaps they were just sold on retention. I'm very happy that you have had such a good experience with them. My point was that a PPI should be done at purchase. As with ANY dealer or used car dealership.

Just because they might be a "rival" why shouldn't I praise them? And I'm not slating anyone. I've just offered an opinion based on personal experience. I'm sure they sell some fine cars and perhaps now they have their own service facility things won't slip the net. The point, again, is to get a PPI on any prospective purchase, that is all wink

I Don't think that is anyway to speak about simon's business or the cars he sells all the prep work and mechanical work that SFSC do is A1.

Well you please yourself. I can only comment on the vehicle issues I have seen and had to put right, some of which were extremely expensive.I don't wish him or his reputation any harm and I'm sure he's a great guy, that's all I have to say on the subject as clearly there is no place in this thread for anything but positive comments.......Strange.....

The trouble is, your a 'business' and a professionally run business doesn't get involved with mud slinging, some times it's best to stay tight lipped regardless of what you know/ have seen..

Fair point. Maybe it didn't come across as advice but really my point was to have an independant inspection carried out. I once had a guy with a 456, fresh from a respected f-sales place, trashed gearbox, both regulators knackered dead cat-control stations, leaking heater matrix. They got away with it by saying it was on retention and the guy had to pony up for the repairs, then get small claims, trading standards etc involved. Not saying these guys would do that, but bear in mind a lot of these cars are 15+ years old the margin for error gets increasingly bigger not to mention expensive...

Selling on retention or consignment a dealer is still obliged to make sure he is selling a product of a certain standard. After all the purchasers subsequent experience then reflects either well or badly on that dealer? If the car isn't of sufficient standard then a dealer should refuse to sell it full stop, or insist that the owner pays to put it right before it is advertised?
Personally I bought a 550 from Furlonger, it wasn't perfect. But they never normally are. Only exception is Cartwrights. They really do seem to go the extra mile on prep.
Worst sales side experience was the Ferrari Centre in Maidstone. They sold me a 355 on consignment. Held out for every penny as well, turned out the car needed a lot of money spent on it. I always inspect now.

unusual colour but really like it, am guessing one of those colours that can change a lot when the sun hits it

link with couple of older ferrari's in same colour - love the 308!

No not on this forum. And since it is clesr you cannot be trusted to keep what you hear to yourself, i will not even respond to your PMs. As i said before, for every positive report there is a negative one...and that goes for specialists in every marque.

Right, now you have lost me. I have not sent you Any PM's. I haven't approached you to talk about anything....I've offered the opportunity to expand on your comments and you have declined to do so, fair enough....

Glad to see I'm not alone in liking this! I'd spotted it while doing my weekly 355 trawl just in case the Lotto numbers come in and it ticks all the boxes for me. I'd kinda assumed it would be an unpopular colour!
