Hi, I'm looking to buy a Gallardo and wondered if there are any colour combos to avoid or to snap up if they are good? There's an orange SE at £79k...will the SE hold value better than a Spyder? Plenty of Black spyders with low miles for £85k.... O ne with tan interior...is that a bad thing...is black on black safer for resale?
I change cars every 6 months so need to buy at the right price and haven't been following G prices...
Is lifting gear essential too?
Any advice gratefully received!

I'd go for Orange over black if your going to want to get out of it quickly in 6 months time. But, £79k for an 05 SE is a lot in my opinion as I don't think anyone really values the SE as a rare car like the 08 SL's.........

Not sure a Tan interior would be a good idea. Fine if you really like it, but if you are buying for a quick exit then I would avoid.
Lifting gear is essential only if you need to negotiate multistorey parking garages with steep down ramps, or steep driveways, otherwise nice but not essential.

If you go for a Spyder, buy in the next few months and sell April/may ,depreciation should not be too bad.

Aren't all Spyders effectively SE's anyway, as they have all the updates that were introduced on the SE?

you could say the se was a trial run for an early mechanical upgrade, so yes, after the se all MY06 cars incorporated the same changes... but the se has unique trim features, the best being the nero noctis roof and engine cover/spoiler/wings.... more comments here... in a duplicate thread... http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&a...

without lifting gear i would not be able to drive beyond the ramp outside next door's house
possibly the quickest way to half your potential resale market is to buy a car without lifting gear

A radio on the other-hand is a necessity!
