Ex P1 and Glenvarigill "Demo" car IIRC. Sold by for high 60's ?

Does anyone know what happened to the Carpe Diem car and also Simons experience car ?

Anyone know anything about this example?

12500 miles for around £67k after currency conversion. With import costs being £2-3k maybe you have a car with harnesses, radio and in nero with reasonable mileage for less than £70k!!

How does one go about checking out a car in Italy though? There must be more to it than simply convincing a good dealer to fly out there with an SD2 machine to inspect it..?

Costs:
- "Import Costs" (i.e. enjoying driving it over) £500 (petrol)
- Speedo Conversion (£100?)
- CoC (£700?)
- MOT (£40)
- TOTAL £1350 (anything I've missed?)
I read on an earlier thread that import costs were about 7% or did I dream that?

no 7% import tax if already paid in home country.
I guess the ad for the black car doesnt say whether tax was paid, but my guess is it has been paid as it is a private car - a phone call to seller will tell.

Oh and the UK reg thingy, nothing missed: it's roughly 2-3kGBP to do it all (CoC being the most painful thingy though, it's super slow).

Lovely car, I assume it will be serviced at present dealer?. If im reading it right it missed a service last year and only done a few miles since last serviced 2010. If the service is due it could be a biggy!.

If the car is coming from EU there is no such import tax at all.

You might have to pay VAT if you are buying a used car (>6 months and >6k kms/3.75k miles) only whether VAT wasn't ever paid anywhere in the EU.

If VAT was paid, but the car is less then 6 months old or have less then 6k kms/3.75k miles on the clock, then you have to pay VAT in UK and try to claim it back from the EU country where it was originally paid (good luck if it's Italy)

When you are registering the car into the UK there is a form you need to send to HMRC saying if VAT have been paid on the car showing some kind of evidence (bill of sale etc), they will then decide if they need any other evidence, out of 4 cars I registered into the UK that were coming from EU I've been asked only once to provide further evidence.

Hope this helps!

Cambs car was ex Glenvarigil demo not P1 car.
P1 car was sold by Autoficina last time but it did sell previous for about £65k I think with over 40k mls.

Apparently the Meridian car sold yesterday for their lowest price of £99k. Anyone on here? Having seen a lot of strads that car is by far the best example I've seen - the panels are perfect compared to many others and the spec is perfect for an alcantara car. Enjoy!

One of my old cars, they had that for well over a year.....just goes to show that even with their pricing, eventually someone will buy.

I bought the Charles Hurst (Belfast) car over the Meridien car - similar money though.

I was keeping an eye on the Maser Shamal they had. Was at £29995 in March and I think they'd had it since late 2010. Last month Octane featured the Shamal, and "coincidentally" MM increased their's to £39,995. It's now sold. Unbelievable.
