Come on guys, you drive Lamborghini's and you quibble over 5.5k Euros. What better way to enjoy life than spend it with the elite driving around Italy?

Driving a Lamborghini don,t mean you have to be frivolous with ya dosh , most owners I,d say are quite the opposite , that,s how they became owners . It will be a great event nonetheless , but could be done for 5000 euro,s all in for 2 people quite easily including fuel and accommodation .

Elite? If by that you mean billionaires, celebs and phoney royals I'd rather drive my car at the nearest wall. I speak from a lot of expensive experience...

How about we organise a London tunnel run with dinner afterwards? Cheaper and around normal people without the egos?

seems to be a lot of interest for a lambo event here in the uk.....

you can get rockingham for a private track day for 6k...... i've asked, easy call to make...
with a 100 takers, thats 60£ each..... drive from london to there, and then cars go out in small groups if the owner wants, with others listening on.....

not sure i want to roast my clutch in first gear doing a parade lap of silverstone TBH....

anyone know if LCUK have any ideas/plans?

Like that idea - wonder if any dealers have plans for 2013?

I think generally 5.5k euros isn't a problem. But there is a fine line between not caring about prices/paying for convenience on one side, and on the other not wanting to let someone rip you off just because they can. imho those prices are far too far towards the latter, so I just won't be going. Its a shame as my company owns a few Lambo's as company cars and this is something we'd have been up for doing... I'm just unwilling to pay 15k for a handful of hotel rooms and a bunch of trips on public roads.

Fuel alone for the trip would be a huge cost if driving there, then around Itally, then home...
Circa 1500 miles there.
1500 miles around Italy.
Circa 1500 miles home.

4,500 mile trip...at 15mpg....
Petrol...£1.36/ltr
100 ltr / 22gal feul tank
330 miles ish to a tank
Thats 13.6 tanks of fuel...so lets say 15!!!

Therefore thats about £2000 for fuel alone!!!

A rather expensive trip!!!....or have I missed something?
I reckon round trip will be closer to 2500 miles , say 200 gallons or about £1300 in fuel depending where you based . Calais to Milan is 620 miles . Driving around Italy reckon you can rack up 1000 miles . Decent hotel 7 nights reckon you can do for £1000 . That just leaves the euro tunnel fee,s food and beer money , and some form of breakdown cover . 4k tops for a trip of a lifetime don,t seem too bad .

i was originally really looking forward to this event, and taking the QV 88 1/2 back to the factory

the previous (and only other) occasion that i visited the factory was in 2001 , a few months after i got my car, for the murcie launch

that was a great trip, the highlight of which was meeting stanzani

there was lots going on ---a proper visit to the production line / a good amount of time in the factory museum / dinner at the factory/ tour to the other (?tonino?) museum/ visit to pagani (managed to get two passenger drives in the zonda---one with mr pagani, and the other with loris biocchi---who said that he was pretty sure that he , rather than valentino, had PDI'ed my car back in 88.The drive with loris, was the most amazing passenger ride i have ever had )/ visit to the ferrari museum

in contrast, i am not sure what one would be getting for one's dime this time round
within the 5 day slot, the time actually spent in sant agata, (the factory and the personalities is surely what its all about), is very limited---sounds like there is only time for a very hurried visit to the line and then dinner

and i am not sure that the most enjoyable way to drive around italy for 5 days would be in a large convoy of over 1,000 cars
lets not even go near the "elite" question

so if anyone is organising a 50th anniversary do within the UK , and its open to the non-elites, please count me in

there will be silverstone classic, which LCUK will do something for, privileged parking and a parade lap at 20mph over lunch probably....
and one or two dealers make an effort with the blancpain series also at silverstone....

i could be persuaded to put something together.... who would be in.... london to the rock seems the best idea at the moment....
ps i would do this for the love of lamborghini, any charges would simply cover costs, which would be totally transparent.....

Driving round a track? In a superlegover? Him?

He prefers meats. It's better that way

it'll be a meat too... a meat (and drive if you want to), though we have no problems encouraging him to mash the load pedal when on the move....
sorry, won;t be able to invite you in the pony...

Had a meeting at the factory on Monday about this. Quite a good turn out from Club Presidents from around the world.

Some highlights:
Many of the roads are used on the Mille Miligia, as they are the same organisers.

The shipping costs they talk about, should be considered a worst case scenario, i.e. one car on a transporter, container, etc. If you want to make it cheaper, then get together and have all the cars at one place and the price will come down. Website to be updated to make this clear.

There will be a police presence roughly every 25 cars to ensure you don't get caught in traffic. They understand the older cars can be brittle. So they will also set of first.

Every fifty cars will be 2 technicians for fix any issues. If they can't then a A6/A8 will be provided for you to carry on and the car will be transported for repair.

There will be a secure Parc Ferme at each night, which will be in the centre of each town and manned all night. More importantly, with no access to the public.

Was there anything specific?

How does a run up Prescott Hill sound? The same weekend as the official party. The nice folks at Prescott are organising a regular event and have invited the club to attend:

Sunday 12th will be devoted to display and driving the famous hill, with passengers if you wish, in marshalled but un-timed runs. Un-timed runs eliminate the need for crash helmets and the full gamut of safety equipment etc. However vehicles must have valid road tax, MOT and insurance documentation. Entries are limited to 200. Any additional runs available will be offered to paddock entrants, for further donations

I am thinking of driving down to this event. I emailed them last week enquiring about what hotels we would be staying at but have not received a reply.
