I didn't...TG used BAC's own car for the Stig laps (thankfully!) and put mine on display in the studio.

Thought the car did itself proud on TG. Thought it was great having Jeremy review it - I know if he fits, it's likely that I'll fit - wonder how many people said similar in their living rooms.

Would love one of these!

Looking forward to seeing one at Castle Combe at some point in the future.

I read that the Tottenham Hotspur manager, Andre Villas Boas is a big Petrolhead, owns a BAC Mono and quite fancies giving up the football management game for full time Motorsport in 5 years time...thumbup

Ressurecting the thread.I can only dream about owning a Mono, but now it is becoming strictly a multi millionaires toy.The latest price is around 125 000 pounds before options and ticking most, but not all,of them can easily bump it up to 180 000 pounds. For reference,it was launched at 75 000,swiftly followed by the ''necessary'' hike to 90 000.

Apparently the demand is there even with the ever ballooning prices,so they are doing a ''Zonda'',although Pagani was at least making some upgrades to the car, including a fancier tub.

That is a shame. The Mono is my favourite 'Lottery Win' fantasy. Shame to see one meet it's end like that.

I watched an on-line video about it, and they imply that they have a process of constant improvement, rather than 'model revisions'.
On the other hand, if I was in the Billionaires Club, I would consider the Mono a bargain at under £200k.

Obviously the BAC mono is extremely overpriced but I'm not sure that they are deliberately ripping-off their customers; in entirety/at all/at the moment. The manufacturing technics used and their choice of materials screams as though they are all young and naïve and only recently graduated university having no practical or real world experience.

Excessive use of carbon fibre for non-structural parts or parts that don't require the stiffness through material choice alone. For example you could use S-glass instead because the shape/crease would deliver the stiffness required. (a sheet of mild steel is extremely bendy, but if you shape it by making it a 3d shape such as I/H beams or C-channel beams, or even just puting creases into it, such as those around a wheel-arch on a conventional car, it has enough rigidity. Obviously Steel isn't appropriate for body-panels on a performance car, but there are materials that are lighter and stronger than Carbon fiber, just not as stiff, but when you factor in the shape of the 3D component, the advantages of carbon fiber evaporate).

Impressionable. They bought the 3D-printing hype and chose to use that manufacturing-process on parts that do not benefit from it at all.

The whole car just screams wasted money left right and centre for no or negligible gains.

You can buy FOUR Kawasaki Ninja H2Rs for less than the new BAC mono and BAC have got rid of all the complicated stuff!

The older 2.3 l Cosworth engine revs to 8000... Feels quite good and revs just fine. I have had it mapped for better response and also for 99 octane fuel. But have not driven it yet with the new map

Should be arriving from the UK to Cyprus this weekend and hopefully out and about by end week. Will advise further.

Also just bought a 2017 2.5l version....
