After having my Vanquish full sorted by the Bamford Rose crew, I fell in love with it all over again and stopped the itch to try something different ... until I saw a California cruise by yesterday!! The rear seats in the Vanquish are really useful when the 3 of us want to go somewhere, hence California would suit us well.

Any owners have any feedback, good & negative points?

Cars are even creeping below the 100K mark (albeit with higher miles).

Well, I'm extremely happy with mine. Very versatile car with possibly more performance than your current one. Personally I would go for the 7 year servicing pack if you can stretch that far. That came in during March '11 and a model of that age or newer will set you back more than 100k.

I was going to go for a Cali but have now gone for a masser grancabrio sport. If you need a back seat they are great. It can carry 4 adults in comfort ( not people without legs) and is a great car to drive and sounds amazing!
Also you'll get a new car with 3 years warranty for £110k or a 6-12 month car for £85k!

I'm thinking the same, but I'm also thinking it might be a big mistake!

Thanks for replies chaps .... best get myself over to the dealer to have a test drive!
Have looked at the Grantourismo, but fancy the extra performance and the hardtop conv roof.
Wasn't a huge fan from looking at pictures but in the flesh it looked fantastic.

I owned a California for 18 months. Great car, much underrated. We did several thousand miles including a lot of European touring. Only sold it because delivery of 458 Spider is imminent.

PS - only a personal thing but I think Californias look best in a light, metallic colour. I feel dark colours make the rear end look somewhat massive.

Traded my Vanquish S for a Cali earlier this Year - admittedly under some pressure as I have young kids that want to accompany us on trips and simply could not fit into the rear seats of the Aston. Loved the Vanquish S for all the obvious reasons but going to the Cali is going from analogue to digital. It is an awesome car with a very split personality that on the extreme side is much angrier and aggressive than even the Vanq was.

Do not underestimate the California, it's a proper, proper Ferrari - and has roughly the same amount of rear seat room as a 911 - kids now happy to compromise smile

Only had mine for a few weeks but its great.

It doesnt photo well at all, so isnt as pretty as say a 458 but then what 4 seater supercar is?

Im getting new wheels on mine to make it look more aggressive like this: http://www.adv1wheels.com/adv1wheels/advgal/ferrar...

If you have to use the seats in the rear, i wouldnt go for one if your child is say over the age of 14 as they will have to crouch down when the roof is down, i.e. no head height whatsoever for anyone over 5ft.
Fine if you are in Dubai and you can have the roof open, but not in the UK!

p.s. I used to own a gallardo and a murcielago - this feels as fast as those.

The California is really a Maser. Nicked the design off them.

For me, the proportions of the California look better than the Maser.

The thing is, the Vanquish is increasing in value and the Ferrari is dropping value like there's no tomorrow.

Everyone thats owned or currently owning a California have said very positive things about it on this thread so far; any owners or previous owners have a bad word about it?

Like to hear some negativity on it please - to save me money and stop me from wanting to change to one.

Ok the sat nav is ok, not brilliant and the buttons on the back of the steering wheel are rubbish. I read somewhere that somebody commented the coat hooks were plastic ( the shame of it smile )

It's not the prettiest car from the rear

It would be nice if the big lights were the brake lights, oh and if the roof would rise / fall on the move

Does that help?biggrin

My TPMS warning light came on once for no reason. I reset it and it seems OK now. idea
