Mario,
as others probably have anticipated it's a decision between two very different cars:
One is a two seater sporty-gt, not suited for track action but just right on that empty b-road at 6 am, the other is a continent crusher (wipers aside ) that as you said can offer four people strikingly fast performance but will always feel not as nimble as a 1600 Kg 550 could be.
Putting into play a few considerations on resale value and soughtness of each model, consider that at the moment not a single four seater Ferrari come into my mind as holding at least the same value-ratio with the correspondant two seater in the long term. On limited mileage I presume an higher fuel consumption would be of any harm to your finances.
If it was me, if you havn't understood so far, I would go for the 550, the Scaglietti always left me cold.... that red manual 550 with carbon black leather seats parked last week on Montenapoleone street on the other hand.....

True, the original wheels look woeful on the car. The challenge wheels are so much better.
What i meant was i would have been interested in the manual gearbox. £80k for that car is "amusing" as i gave not much more for a 2009 car and I'll still end up doing a fortune on that over a couple of years!

I voted 612 - and then put my money on it...
I saw this yesterday and died a little inside when I realised there'd be an 80% chance it'd be sold by the time I was in a position to buy it's a bit low miles for my liking but you can't have everythinghttp://classifieds.pistonheads.com/classifieds/use...

Oi, get in line
touche Now I appreciate that by the sound of things, you're not going to want to tell me this (ahem ), but given you've seen the TDF car at McGurk, what did you think? It sounds like I'm in a similar position to you, but I can't get up to look at it until next week at the earliest. Did you get a chance to drive it?
I think on paper the WSR Anjum has is probably more desireable, but I've never had a chance to sit in one and at 6'4 I'm not sure the roll bar won't cause me some issues? Not had experience of the racing harnesses either for that matter - what are they like to live with (Anjum I realise I should have put this in my PM, please feel free to answer by PM if you'd rather?).
Thanks all

I've seen it and it's a complete dog...honest....wouldn't touch it with someone else's barge pole....and it smells....a lot....and it's missing philangees (both of them)....and the pictures were photo-shopped it's really green with pink polka dots. BUT, you're in luck as I know someone who has a lovely blue 355 going up for sale in a couple of weeks at half the price of the aforementioned monstrosity Now I appreciate that by the sound of things, you're not going to want to tell me this (ahem ), but given you've seen the TDF car at McGurk, what did you think? On a serious note, unfortunately I have not been to see it so couldn't tell you. And at the earliest I can't get up for a couple of weeks so you've got me
Easy tiger I've placed the deposit and agreed a price subject to an inspection which I'm trying to sort now.
With profuse apologies to ingelow, it's the TDF and tan McGurk 550 I mentioned above

I have been up in the Abingdon/Newbury region the last couple of days. I managed squeeze a visit in last night as other than that it was going to be 2 weeks before I could get back up. It's my perfect spec right down to the Tubi so I thought "b*ll*cks to it" and made an offer.
For the record, their Silver/Bordeaux colour combo one looks epic in real life as well. The pics don't do it justice. If you even think you *might* be able to get on with a bordeaux interior, then any car with that colour combo is worth a look. Not a massive fan of the roll cage, but if they'd been more similarly priced, I would have been happy to have either in principle

After assessing all sides (well, not really, it's just a gut instinct), I'd choose the 550.
And I just put my money where my mouth is Completely not the way to buy an Fcar but life's too short
I think you will find you just bought your Ferrai in *exactly* the same way 95% of the rest of us did.And I just put my money where my mouth is Completely not the way to buy an Fcar but life's too short
