599 Tyres and wheels
Discussion
I need new tyres for my 599 and I don't particularly like the Pirelli's on it, they are not very progressive - they tend to snap a little too much. Has anyone tried different tyres on their 599?
Also, I was thinking of getting GTO wheels, the fronts are wider - has anyone tried this on a standard 599? Do they even fit?

think the pirellis were developed for the 599 and not aware of any suitable alternatives. Never found mine particularly unprogressive although in low temps they can be very slippery. Also, I was thinking of getting GTO wheels, the fronts are wider - has anyone tried this on a standard 599? I'll try Scuderia Systems for a chat.
I know it is cold right now and so the tyres don't really work well in the cold but I found when I changed the tyres on my little boxster spyder (I know it is not necessarily a good comparitor) to Michelin rubber even in the cold I got a more progressive slide.
I have only had the 599 for a few months and I am still settlign into driving it well.
I like to turn off the traction control so I can understand what is really under me.........

This is the car Bromers is referring to... The GTO wheels make a big difference and so does the remap, speeds up the shift time as well as a power increase...
Keep us posted how you get on
Oh yes. In the grand scheme of 599 ownership £4k spent on those has to be money very, very well spent. Keep us posted how you get on
You'd probably get half that back if you took them off when you sold the car.
