I quite like it!

In an extreme 90's sort of way.

But then I also hanker after a Mattig MK2 Astra GTE.

1 its super rarte
2 it was hand crafted by a well known and respected tuning artist. Koenig becamse famous not just in Germany but USA (stallone had at least one R107 Koenig Sl made etc).
£35k for something that had a lot of hand work and detailing put into it is a steal in my opinion. If I wasnt already well exposed to the luxury toys market then i would be buying this myself!
sorry but it was on the market for a while and it is still not sold
makes me think that it is not such a great car

For some reason I am visualising a yellow testarossa convertible and a girl on a horse smile

Though that wasn't a Koenig

I can't believe someone hasn't bought this yet, has anyone been to see it? I've just emailed the guy about the spec. as I'd like to know what chassis changes its had to cope with the extra power. Don't suppose anyone knows more about the rest of the conversion to F48?
I think if it was £30k I'd take a punt even without history.

I had made my mind up that first thing i would do once drive it back to my workshop, is to strip it down bit by bit fully document the entire process and then restore to MY standards ironing out all the little issues its bound to have, with the intention of being a Keeper.

Its why i cant get it out of my head, i like to restore my cars even if they dont always need it????

its a bit of an obsession / illness i have , but i dont drink/smoke/gamble so my only vice is wasting large sums of money restoring/improving/Personalizing them, the cost OR value in the future is NOT why i do what i do to me own cars, so this car makes a lot of sense to me.

BUT and its a big BUT i can see it COULD be a trouble car needing more of my time and cash then i can possible spare at present going past Experience , dealing with such cars for customers.

so with this in mind and again thou the advert saying " I am no longer replying to emails on this car due to the huge number people inquiring about it" so i have not contacted the sealer.

I understand that there are many time wasters out there who normally email, in my trade i find my email enquires return is about 5% , phone enquires 70% return and walk ins/ booked an appointment 90% return.
made worse that all enquires put together emails accounts for 80% of the entire enquires logistics, so much time is spent dealing with emails which leads to nothing.

You sound like someone who knows his way around cars, so why not do a thorough inspection before purchase?

Why not give it a good inspection yourself?, get it on a ramp and give it a good going over.

Of course for my business, all thou i have a front man for that.

its as i said something that i have been warming too and also tried doing loads of internet search about this car and the conversion (not a lot comes up of course), in the market to buy a ferrari (made my mind up on that) and after speaking at length to chris from autofficina about which model it fell back to my school boy dream 355.

his advice was to sale the TVR i own (could take a while for such a car) and then go in with cash and buy the nicest one possible (some of course is obvious).

I am in no rush as i own 6 cars and need to slowly sale most of them, only TVR (being absolutely perfect pampered car) needed to fund the ferrari purchase as i direct replacement.

Then is got my thinking if i sold most of my cars i could go for a 360 or cheaper 430 ,,,,,hence still thinking about the car in thread, BUY it then once other cars sold i could fund the full restoration rebuild and end up with something very unusual.

Interesting is speaking again to chris and many of my super car PH customers they all came back with buy a really nice 355.

i have shown some of my PH friends this car and not been met with same interest and excitement as me.

Any details of your Tuscan anywhere online?
Not yet , and still to process the 1000's of photos of the work that i completed on the car.

to give a SMALL idea here are a few links ]

http://www.detailingworld.co.uk/forum/showthread.p...

http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&a...

cars covered 26000 miles full TVR service history with every MOT to back up mileage also all receipts for the work and parts.

In last 3000 miles it had over 20k spent on the car by last owner, and was well known for being a very good looked after sorted car.

might add the owner loved the car that much and really nice guy that on collection a week later leaving deposit he spent £1300 doing all the small MOT advise's which was not part of the deal.

http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&a...

so brief history / parts that have been fitted over last 3000 miles or less.

New late tuscan 2 engine (blue top rocker cover, Until i painted it yellow) latest generation harness and ecu , with uprated head gasket and ARP head studs timing chains etc.

Full repaint in pearl white by ex mclaren painter, when i spoke to TVR specialist who had worked on the car they verified it was a very sorted car with very special repaint to stunning standards (not done by them).

New AP clutch , light weight flywheel , clutch slave and master.

New latest alarm / Immobiliser / key and barrel, alternator and starter motor.

New alpine stereo upgrade and speakers with Ipod connection by specialist TVR ICE guy.

KW nitrons 2 way fully adjustable suspension.

Interchangeable rear carbon silencers, for quiet or loud.

4 brand new bridgestone tyres.

both front seats fully re-trimmed in leather.

nearly every joint , bush and ball joint has been changed

Then i carried out big restoration to compliment all the money spent on parts and labour , plus spent another £4000 on parts (trade price)

this included full repaint to chassis, recolour the rest of interior to match new front seats , including carpets, many updates to steering and suspension to solve bump steer issues and handling.

refurb of 4 wheels, new lcd dash screen , full service including all belts, throttle body set up , every fluid, all hoses changed to new silicone type, HID front dip and main beam, new rear screen alloy holders and so on.

Writing this has made me think i must do full write on the car with photos and WHY THE HELL i am thinking of getting rid of it?????

i worked on many TVR's many being later cars than mine, some being 4-5 years newer none have been close to the chassis condition of mine and of course none sounded as sweet and smooth as mine either due to new engine.

A recent drive out with friend in very late Diablo in toe , and the comment was "that TVR is a quick little thing" biggrin

i still got that ferrari itch that needs to be itched wink

Assuming the chap (who has viewed and had inspected) can sort out import into Australia.

Otherwise, in p/x that Tuscan is definitely a boat floater!

Stuck my head through your door when visiting Lepsons and spoke to your brother. He showed me the Tuscan and I couldn't quite believe how perfectly prepared and presented it was. He told me how much time you'd spent on it so really surprised that you'd consider getting rid of it.

I've driven Kelly's TVR a couple of times - my word is it a sorted Tuscan. Stunning, obviously (you can see that from the pictures), but it starts on the button and drives so nicely - I was really surprised (and I've driven a few TVRs!)

just checked bank account this morn - no deposit. Now this chap said yesterday he'd get his daughter to do it before he got on his flight back to Aus.

355, viewed, inspected - handshake given, pending export docs;

Chap said is cautious over Aus government and wants to make sure tee's are crossed and I's dotted before committing.

I said, give me a very small non-refundable deposit to confirm your intention. He said - ok, however, checked this morn, no new money in account.

I appreciate this is thread high jacking and so I will say that if you wish to get in touch, pm me.

My 355 http://www.pistonheads.com/classifieds/used-cars/f...

Reason for sale, still true but changed slightly, shall be using dosh to fund going racing next year!

(loving that M3 too)

ok, on another note, if that M3 is suitable as a road weapon then that too might interest me as a replacement for my classic impreza.

But only if the suspension is compliant and suited to proper 'B' road use.

Just a thought. Anyway, I dare say one of us shall contact the other soon.
Contacted you smile

BTW 348 had deposit placed on it when rang on friday
