To be honest, I'm dreaming here. If I came home with this the wife would kill me, she wants a house and a 4x4, not a Ferrari.

However, I'm curious. I have two boys they will be 2 and 4 in may, could I get a way with this...?

Space-wise, not a problem, but I don't think you'll get child seats to fit. There's been some discussion on this before, but I think the upshot was that even the Ferrari branded ones only fit in the front.
Might as well get a house and a 458.

Don't want the mortgage required to buy where i live, and don't want to move. 458 would be silly for me, already have a coupe sport car.
The Cali would be sensible. well..

Might just go and look at one. Though the wife would be pissed off I'm pretty sure she wouldn't mind that much. they are gorgeous.

Now. Howabout putting one of these on the street..?

I run a post on this last year.
I had to sell a Murcielago once my pool cleaner got my wife up the roger, so I also enquired about space, car seats etc.

I brought one in July and have also tarted it up since (pic below).
In short, a 2 and 4 yr is ironically better in terms of space than my 20 month old baby i have currently. Reason is that my daughters legs are not yet long enough for her knees to go over the seat and bend down into the foot wells and hence my wife always needs to sit v.close to the front windscreen because daughter's legs need alot of the spare space.

With a 2 and 4 yr old, that will not be an issue.
There is not much room for an adult in the back, so I would not buy one if I have a child over the age of say 14.

In terms of car seats, it was a long drawn out solution (incl a call to the divs in italy), but essentially the britax seats suggested in the drivers manual do fit (they dont have to be ferrari branded) and you can get them from mothercare etc - BUT, you have to take the bottom of the (car not baby) seat out (it slips out easily) in order for it to fit with the roof up...nb. the manual does not say this - and i nearly broke the roof as a result (bring out Johnnie Cochran).

Bottom line - get one, its a great compromise and i use it as a daily drive.

I'll take a snap for you later today.

Californias should be ok on the road - they do not invoke as much envy as others so less chance of damage etc. The first night I got a gallardo someone spat on the windscreen...nice...welcome to 'success britain', where being successful and hardworking is worse than being a sex offender....shoot

Spat on i can deal with.

Well this idea is growing on me, i think i might just go for it.

Where do i start looking, what do i look for? Do i go for the cheapest car or is that stupid (finacially)? Initial cost not so much of a factor as total loss during ownership.

Should I run into a house i 'need' to buy, what would i lose if i have to shift it fast? 10-15 k in 6 months or am i beeing optimistic?

Picture as promised.
Doesnt really show you much.
I live in East Berkshire - so if you want to look in person -youre welcome.

I got a Cali 2 years old. You have to assume that it will lose circa 9-12K per year in depreciation; more if you buy knew, a bit less if you buy very old.
The key for me was colour scheme, so waited until one came up which i liked.

Also, if you are using the rear seats for children then do not go for the front seats in carbon fibre or sports seats as they are more pronounced at the rear = less room for toddlers knees etc....

I got after market wheels as I felt the wheels ferrari gave werent that sexy - personal choice....

p.s. you must always have the child seat in 'relaxed' position, otherwise the roof will hit it (or your child's head!) - given your children are older this wont be a problem mind....

She says the baby is mine, but it looks like arnold from different strokes, my pool cleaner looks like mo farah, and i look like dale winton - so something is dodgy.

Thanks. And thanks for the offer but we'll just go to local f dealer, surely they will have car seats to demonstrate..?
