Thanks. Good to know some more history. If you are interested in how the car looks today the advert is still currently on PH.
The car was actually built in 2002, rather than coming off the production line in 2003. It was the car displayed in Paris in 2002 for example. I'll PM you something to help give you some more information on the history of the car, smile

That's the plate it was on when I saw it, prior to being replaced by an F Roadster.

That's a great looking car....especially like the carbon interior. The interior on the other Silver car that is LHD on PH is an acquired taste.

The Martin Brundle Supercars video is from 2003. The total value of all the cars tested is around £3M. Probably double that amount today. It's interesting to see how supercars have progressed over the last decade. The early-mid 2000s was an important time in the history and development of supercars. How times have changed.

What is also interesting about the video is how they are highly anticipating the arrivals of the SLR and Carrera GT. The SLR is considered to be a major disappointment mechanically and commercially and the GT has gained a degree of notoriety.

Pagani have really come a long way since then. Many years ago I had ride in the yellow Zonda Roadster S which now belongs to coyft (previous owner is a good friend). The noise and acceleration were most extraordinary.

Here are a couple of reminders of why many of us first fell in love with the Zonda: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wZUIKmUOyWshttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zIoFnfMhq_Y

Well I never, I have read Harry's reports a number of times in the past but for some reason that "Tanks" comment just did not stick. I will have to dig back into my build photos and see if he is talking about a tank liner because the tank structure is a part of the tub
Getting the details on this hasn't been easy.

Whether that's an Italian thing, a Pagani thing or just a thing.. I haven't worked out.

Currently Pagani London (H.R.Owen) are quoting an eye watering £££ to change the tanks. From what I can glean, this would be for the bag element of the tanks, similar to an F40. What I haven't been able to ascertain is whether this work is a) Mandatory b) Recommended c) Someone just having a laugh.

I won't be parting with a penny though until I get to the bottom of it !

The thing with the tank is that its an engine out job. But in the heady world or supercars this is actually an easy job in the Zonda as the engine and rear suspension are all hung off a rear sub frame that bolts to the tub. Undo a few bolts, disconnect a few wires and hoses and bobs your uncle.

This wont unfortunately stop them charging you the earth, that's the price you pay

Not an engine out job.

I didn't even know they had bag tanks!
I am looking for clarity on this - this week - so will post anything I can confirm.
I suspect part of the problem is that I am using a third party to liaise with HR Owen Pagani & the factory.
I'm hoping to get my hands on the car before the weather really sets in, so I suspect it's going to be a case of taking it as it is & then sending it to the factory over Winter.

In which case Andy I am confused, how do they get to the tank then, have you had yours done??

Some of you guys may have instagram accounts, if so you may want to follow this guy

@pperezc

He's got a Zonda Revolucion in build and hoping to take delivery soon. He's posting up pictures of the car in build and has just posted a vid of the engine being started for the first time! cloud9

I especially like seeing his picture of Horacio Pagani hand washing his Lamborghini Gallardo when he went on an organised trip, now that's service for you. smile

Picked up the car today - what a fantastic few hundred miles !
As an update, Pg 8 of the maintenance schedule specifies that the tanks should be replaced every 10 years & an inspection by Lovetts has demonstrated that mine have minor deterioration - so the work will be done this winter.
