A superficial look at the classifieds shows there are 70 x 458 coupes currently available after just 3 years of production. Only 57 x F430 coupes currently available after a longer 5 year production run.

Are people simply hanging on to their 430s or is there an oversupply of the 458 I wonder?

I think 430's tend to sell quicker as they are half the price, so less tend to hang around.

A lot of 458's have been on the market for ages.. Also quite a few examples of people who had the coupe and are now chopping in for Spiders...

I know someone who had a 1st of march 13 plate Spider that he had ordered quite a while ago to speculate and make some money on and got a surprise.....! Ended up just getting his money back with delivery miles on it.....!

I know one that's been available for ages at around £165 but the spec is very low.

There also seem to be a large number of very low mileage 2012 cars at the dealers. Are these likely to be private vehicles on a sale or return basis, maybe from people who bought speculatively? Or cars taken in by the dealers as customers switch to something newer?

Quite a few left hookers as well. Dealers importing trying make a quick buck maybe. I still fancy a 458 having driven a few recently I think they are fantastic. Problem is do I want to drop my Scud in the process. At this rate it could be a straight swap(-;.

What constitutes a low spec? I think the must haves are carbon steering wheel, ipod connector and sat nav?
Oh - and the servicing plan.

Perhaps there are even more than 70 pre-owned 458s available if dealers are prevented by Ferrari from advertising more than a couple?

Anyone know how old a model needs to be before it escapes this advertising restriction?

Yeh but lifes to short and a 458 is so much better than a Scud. IMHO of course.

Apparently, 458's are very much more difficult cars to deal with in terms of mileage correction :-)

This one from memory... - http://www.pistonheads.com/classifieds/used-cars/f...

This is cheap on another note - anyone know if there's a story?

I suppose it depends on how much of a depreciation hit one is prepared/able to take...

Plenty in the £160k region with a good spec though.

Hence one at that money without a great spec not selling.

For me the sports seats are 100% essential, won't look at a car without them.

new coupes still arriving at dealerships all the time...have a peek round the back!I also see that the Spyder now has its own section in the ph classifieds...they are absolutely wonderful cars, and who knows when the weather improves, but for now there would seem to be too many available for them not to take another leg down.Fantastic car and more power to anybody who manages to pick one up at a good price. Also,I believe that after a year or so they came with 7 years free servicing so great on running costs too.Adored mine when I had it.Agree it's spec sensitive, definitely a few must haves for me...

Difficult to make a case for the coupe v hard top convertible imo.
