A superficial look at the classifieds shows there are 70 x 458 coupes currently available after just 3 years of production. Only 57 x F430 coupes currently available after a longer 5 year production run.

Are people simply hanging on to their 430s or is there an oversupply of the 458 I wonder?

3 years standard, 4 years if topped up when bought.

The 7 years is a SERVICE PACK for inclusive servicing, it is not also 7 years warranty.

Difficult to make a case for the coupe v hard top convertible imo.
The "case" is that there is a £80k price difference right now.

All Good for F430 Spider Residuals. Your talking at least twice the money to get into a 458 tintop and as good as it is, its never twice the car.

Keep Speccing them up boys, no point having a new poverty spec 458 convertible

F430 spiders the new CS lol

Do you think the 458 Italia coupe appeals to the same customer that wants open top motoring ?

I can see people moving from coupe to coupe and I'm a little surprised a bigger gap hasn't been created between F430 coupes and spiders yet.

As I've said before I like the 458 convertible immensely as I do my F355GTS cus it gives you the coupe looks in winter and open air motoring in the summer. I would of had a F430 GTS if there was such a choice but given the choice of Spider / coupe and manual / F1 I went for a F1 spider.

I think that as the values of both F430 coupe and 458 coupe falls the gap will widen between F430 coupes to F430 spiders.

With the seemingly current glut of 458's I'm a bit concerned where they may end up value wise hence my own and no doubt several others caution at entering this marketplace right now. Whilst I expect and can live with losing circa £10k a year in depn on a toy I can't justify £20k + if that's the case, however good it maybe

458 spiders are probably going to outsell 458 coupes in the future and if supply is limited carefully as seems to be the case now its got to help residuals.

Well that's what I'm hoping

No not really, life really is to short and the 458 really is a lot better than a Scud.IMHO
Not sure I can agree, I have been responsible in part for a 2nd hand Coupe entering the market as I wanted out of this, granted I have replaced it with a Spider. But my Scud is a keeper, so much more fun than the 458, equally as quick, an enthusiasts car if you will and one to be very proud of. just saying ;0)

If you are of the opinion "why would you buy a coupe when you can have the spider" then this could mean bugger all coupe's are now being sold, hence numbers could easily dry up - surely most new orders in this way of thinking will be for spiders and thus bigger numbers and no limited supply?

Its funny if I were in the market for a 430 I'd only consider a manual coupe on the basis I think the car is prettier then its spider sibling. Long term I think F430 manuals will be the most sought after models.

However when ordering a 458 whilst I still feel the coupe is prettier due to that sloping glass at the back with visible engine the folding hard top of the new spider made it an automatic choice. Can't wait till it arrives _ its quite an unusual spec!

They're all going to drop like a stone though. Even 458 Spider will be £100k in a few years IMO. Who cares I will drive the wheels off mine!

Pretty sure I don't agree with you either, but hey they are just opinions and we all get to have our own.

I really liked my Scuderia, but imo the 458 is just a much better car all round

Its been mentioned here before by a few people - but having had 3 coupes and driven a few others I swear the early 2010 cars are faster than the later cars (certainly my first car was the faster than my other 2)

didn;t they have that fire recall issue in late 2010..... i know they blamed the glue..... but x files and all that..... maybe later cars are compromised in some way to be safer?

So an interesting question for you...

You don't have a fleet and you've got ~ £150k burning a hole in your pocket.

Would you go Scuderia or 458 if you could only have 1 or the other?

I would save up a bit more and buy a 16M since it will hold its value better

Personally for me the 16m is a strange car. The Scud is a lightweight racer much like the CS. Open top motoring in a stripped out racer really doesn't equate for me. Probably great, I haven't been in one but I think I'd save myself a few quid and have a 430 convertible.

there are plenty of jokes on here about "haircuts" and I am beginning to wonder myself about how many are getting them?!

how can it be that every 458 and california on here for sale has only done about 2000-6000 miles. I see dozens in London being used as daily drivers, fine admittedly you dont do much mileage in London A-B but dont tell me these cars dont go on drives on the weekends or down to monaco for a run. I find it hard to believe that 2 year old cars have covered such small mileage? Tell me Im being paranoid?

I've always been in the 12C camp when it came to Fez Vs Mac in that category, but after having ecurie25's 458 Spider for a few days recently I've changed my mind.

What. A. Car.

It helps that it only had 1k on the clocks so was still very tight, but that is one seriously impressive machine. After 3 days, 400 miles and a lot of broken speed limits I had fallen for that car quite hard.

The only issue I have is that at 70mph the buffeting in the cabin is terrible. It really would make a drive down to the south of France in summer a roof-up on the motorway job which is a shame.

lick

Oh, and they sound rather good too. I had Shmee along for a ride one day:
