Lamborghini Gallardo LP560-2 Anniversario - WHY ????

Totally understandable - the boxes in the 458/12C are incredible, you'd absolutely love them.
But for me, the ultimate driving pleasure recently wasn't 200mph in an Aventador, nor blasting after a Macca P1 in a 458 Spider - it was a couple of hours driving the roads of Essex in a new Exige V6S. Stunning car, you feel 100% 'connected' to it.
I don't begrudge anyone getting the other paddle shifted cars, they truly are impressive, and for a daily driver I'd be more than happy to own an auto/DSG/whatever, but for driving pleasure I prefer to shift myself...
I think I get this Beef, I think it is just different levels of 'connected'.But for me, the ultimate driving pleasure recently wasn't 200mph in an Aventador, nor blasting after a Macca P1 in a 458 Spider - it was a couple of hours driving the roads of Essex in a new Exige V6S. Your blast in the Exige sounds great, I had the same kind of connection to my manual 911S, the box was very much a part of the experience. But when in something with more power and straight line speed I only have so much concentration to go around, suddenly I don't want to be thinking about hitting the changes on the sweet spot, I just want to power out of the corner on the right side of the road!
Perhaps for me it's just that these wide cars take a lot more driving on our crappy roads, and I want to concentrate on position and safety more than I want to enjoy the control of the gearbox. Flappy paddles make that much easier.
I wish I could drive a manual box to it's limits, I'm sure it would make the driving experience more exciting overall as you point out, but I can't play and sing, I'll have to settle for just one!
Is this the lightest gallardo there is? All dry weights quoted here...
Gallardo 1430kg
Gen1 SL. 1330kg
Lp560. 1410kg
Lp550. 1380kg
570 squadra corsa 1340kg
Surprised the squadra corsa is not less than the gen 1 superleggera
But this 560-2 has full carbon interior and seats, wheels off gen1 SL, rear spoiler and carbon brakes.... At least 60kg no? Which would make it the lightest and best power to weight ratio gallardo.... Only problem, don't think any UK cars were specced manual...

2007 sl had plastic windows, cf/plastic engine cover, no radio/satnav, amps or speakers, no folding mirror motors, cf undertray, soundproofing removed, no stupid rear spoiler, factory-picked lean drivers, all of which adds up Gallardo 1430kg

desirable? depreciation proof?
when one talks about supercars, the lambo's are slated for being 4wd...... say Gallardo cf 12c/458...... but then I don't understand why when talking Gallardo, 4wd is better than 2wd!!!!!!
rather have a twitchy car that's more 'fun' at slower speeds and slower overall than a rocket that flatters my driving skills......

love the Gallardo to bits, but the interior is a bit dull...... except when its like that above!!!
only negative.... its not a manual, but no uk car was.....

That's another oddity, not one us car was egear, and they supposedly like auto boxes.. 14 UK cars of 100 worldwide, all e gear, only 9 left in the UK...

Hi There,
I own a 50th and to my knowledge they have all been sold apart from the car at Sevenoaks which has non carbon door handles.
Awesome piece of kit and a true drivers car. massive difference being 2 wheel drive.
hi, is yours manual? did you go for a 50th from the outset or did you also try a 4wd variant?I own a 50th and to my knowledge they have all been sold apart from the car at Sevenoaks which has non carbon door handles.

i would like a 2wd lp and the spec on the 50th is just perfect - esp the interior and spoiler....
that sevenoaks car is now sold....
