Two Aventadors revving and spitting flames in London

I watched his video that was linked earlier on talking about the yellow Aventador and thought to myself. 'Fair enough, who wouldn't make a video?' People do a driving video of themselves at track day in an MX5 and it's nice to see a real world view of the car.
However I then looked at his twitter feed as it seemed like it might be interesting. It started badly with the motivational bio. it then goes on to show he responds to the news article and this Pistonheads thread. Unfortunate really, as I had him down as lucky individual, but not so sure now. If you've clearly caused some upset then apologise and move on and don't react to it. Especially if you run a business that will rely on reputation. Whether he earns money from the family, or on his own.
The majority of people that hire cars through them will not care about his tweets. I think the video will only help rentals as people will want to emulate him and recreate his video. Brilliant bit of marketing for him. Helps Shmee too as he gets the hits/views on YouTube, pretty smart. However I then looked at his twitter feed as it seemed like it might be interesting. I couldn't care how he got his cash or what he does with it. He comes across as a tosser in the video to most of us PH'ers but I doubt he will lose any sleep over that. I think the people filming who thought it was the best thing ever should get out to more ph and motorsport events. Hearing a load of FXX's fire up in the pits at Silverstone or a bunch of classic Corsa Cliente F1 cars is way more of an aural delight.
Agree about the FXX'x - i was at a Ferrari racing days event at Silverstone 2/3 years ago & made the mistake (not) of being in the pits just prior to these beasts going out on track.
The noise was epic - all the cars (15 or 20 i think) were fired up at the same, the throttles were blipped a few times & then the cars were left idling over.
I thought the pits complex was going to shake itself to pieces!!! What a way to loose your hearing!!!!

Well I was thinking the imaginary 250 owners gave the impression of being connoisseurs, due to their age and the type of car, rather than embedded had any of the attributed qualities of connoisseurs (although what the qualities of a car connoisseur are, I really don't know, apart from owning and having an interest in only the best cars).
It was a more a musing on what even Petrolheads see as some one being flash and showing off and what we see as someone just having fun, it wasn't really a great comparison.
I'm rather selfish, I would love to have some flash gits rev the tits off of their v12s near me, because I am a car nut and like such things, however I fully understand the bloke who is popping into Harrods for some overpriced jam may think its a load of intrusive noise.
I wouldn't do it myself, unless a fellow car nut want to hear the noise then a couple generous revs is just good charity, but driving around endlessly revving wouldn't be my idea of fun.
While their actions are inconsiderate and immature, but I am completely bias as I don't often get to hear v12s revved very often, and even if I did live in central London where a 458 is commonplace, I'm sure I would still like to hear it.
I don't think people here disagree about it sounding good. The thing they disagree is about the amount it was done and the location. It's caused a lot of people to hate supercars and increase the chance of cars being damaged by people who are pissed off with it. Imagine it was airhorns going off where you live. Effectively that is what it is to them - just a lot of noise. There's a time and a place, and continuous circuits of London is not one of them.It was a more a musing on what even Petrolheads see as some one being flash and showing off and what we see as someone just having fun, it wasn't really a great comparison.

I was there in 2007 and last year, low quality video from 2007 when the classics started up in the pits - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qgP7BUpLwpQThe noise was epic - all the cars (15 or 20 i think) were fired up at the same, the throttles were blipped a few times & then the cars were left idling over.

I do live in central London - and I am constantly having to avoid kids with camera/camera phones standing in the middle of the road filming me. I don't rev until there are flames coming out of the back of my car in town. I am consious of not p*ssing off my neighbours.
Having said that - I love my Aventador - and the sports exhaust!

That is my point. Genuine super-car owners will all be branded cocks when 99% arent. Its just the few idiots, as in the video, who ruin it for everyone.Having said that - I love my Aventador - and the sports exhaust!

I have no doubt you rev the engine however you probably do it when it's quiet or you are in a tunnel.......
I was next to this fella in the yellow Aventador a month ago or so whilst in my SS. Right flash Harry with the loud music and smoking in the motor. Fair play if he's using the cars when they're not on hire, the problem seems to be from the people they're renting them to: See the 'PET' reg'd hire cars up in town more frequently - bell ends from where the comapny are based driving into London to act like they own the motors and the roads!
Most pathetic thing ever, it might be different if the son had actually worked hard to get it but he hasn't done a thing.
Fair play to his Dad but what's the need to show off, potentially harm people and annoy the people that live there?
Like others have said, the sad people following them with the cameras are as bad...
It annoys me how he posts videos on youtube saying he is taking delivery of his new Range Rover or Aventador, when they are not even his.

More bitterness and jealousy. Bless.Fair play to his Dad but what's the need to show off, potentially harm people and annoy the people that live there?

If you're going to shoot flames out an Aventador, then do it for a reason!

What would happen if they did this in Monaco?
They would get a very stern warning first, then a night in jail if they carry on, I know as I reved my car in frustration having waited 30 mins a a traffic jam. These idiots are utter tools, I had access to similar cars at 17, and wouldn't dream of doing this type of thing.
They should be forced to go to a circuit and record their efforts for all to see, and then well find out what their made of, not sure they'd want to be on film being laught at.
