For the latest on 360 prices please head over here.

Average F430 asking prices has softened again, this time down 25bps over the last month. Although this (and last months) dip have been minor, the F430 market remains slow which is in stark contrast to the 360 market where things are starting to pick up.

However the overall automotive market is starting to wake up - if you're considering a F430 then I would move now before the good weather and activity in other tipos wake up buyers.

Apologies for the delay in providing an update - I am in the process of purchasing my own workshop which is taking up a lot of my time (and money!).

The numbers say that average F430 prices are up this month but it's only by 0.49% and in reality this market has been static for most of this year. The snap general election hasn't helped and has even put the brakes on some transactions. I can't see much happening until the result is known and digested.

Apologies for the late update - Sunday is my only day off these days as I'm working flat out to get my new workshop ready.

I'm not going to bother to repeat what has already been discussed in this thread about the current state of the market as I think it is a fair assessment. Average F430 prices have nominally dropped 0.70% but in reality nothing has really changed. Lets see what happens next week...

Do you do this on Aventador?
No but I have the data on Lambo, Macca, Ferrari and Maserati. I'd be willing to supply the data set for any tipo on a one off basis for anyone looking to do some analysis but am not willing to..

a) give away my algo - it's proprietary and unstable (ie: I really don't want to support it)
b) supply data on an ongoing basis as I have plenty on as it is

Cheers...

The recent election hasn't helped matters and I have a couple of clients who have shelved purchasing plans for now on the back of the result. However dealers are reporting a mixed bag with some finding thing difficult and others not so bad. The numbers kind of reflect this with 360 prices falling and 430 prices firming up a touch. The increased uncertainty is not great and I think the rest of 2017 will be difficult.

However, F430 prices have increased a modest 1.11% over the last month but in reality this is not meaningful and prices have been static for some time.

Apologies for the late update but I have paying customers that get a higher priority.

For the latest in 360 prices please head over here.

Asking prices have increased a little more which is to be expected with the summer weather. The index is now at it's highest level, 131.56, up 0.54% over the last month.

However higher asking prices don't translate into higher transaction prices. I would like to call out a car I bought on behalf of a client a couple of weeks ago - it was an F1 coupe in a desirable colour combination with just 13k miles. I inspected the car, verified the mileage and that it was still wearing its original paint - we bought it for £81k. The owner subsequently spent £2k with me getting it perfect. It's not often I agree with Gary but to pay over £100k for a 430 F1 is madness right now.

F430 prices are symptomatic of the overall market - very little is happening. The average asking price fell 1.2% over the last month but prices have been treading water for a while. August has always been slow but this year it seems to have been even quieter. I'm going to be at Sotheby's on Wednesday so it'll be interesting to see what the room is like and how the bidding goes. I guess it could set the tone for the rest of the year.

No comments between the monthly updates - things really are slow!!

F430 prices have fallen again - down 2.44% over the last month. However the average asking price is still over £100k, just. We are seeing reduced levels of interest in the F430 as buyers become more fixated on their potential downside. We have buyers that have discounted buying an F430 F1 in favour of a manual 360, despite the F430 being a much better car (IMO). I can only really see a continued slow decline in asking prices as we enter the winter months.

Sorry guys. I've been flat out at the workshop and have only just had time to scribble together a quick update.

F430 asking prices have risen a little over the last month, up 0.44%. This was also mirrored in the 360 market. Things are still pretty tough out there and for the 430 in particular, we are seeing very little buying interest. We have done a few 360 deals, all of which were off-market private treaty transactions (including a 360 that was sold to a youtuber). We also have clients that have cash to spend and are looking to drive deep discounts from distressed vendors.

We also have the first interest rate rise in over tens years in the mix. Although a 0.5% base rate isn't anything to shout about, higher interest rates may further reduce interest in investing in supercars.

I caught sight of these posts during the day and had started to plan out a witty rebuke. Now I'm home and after a day spent fighting a 360 engine I'm completely frazzled. I really don't have the time to do these updates and if they're not what people are looking for then perhaps it's time to knock it all on the head.

I will publish for numbers for Decemeber and then look forward to reading the new 2018 F430 market watch based on auction sale prices.

I have decided that this will be my last update on this thread. I will certainly continue to scrape the underlying data and will ponder if I'm going to publish anything going forward - however if I do it will be on my own site.

It's been over four years since I started this thread and how things have changed. During that time period the collectable car market has gone nuts and now looks like it has started to cool off. The 360 market was up a mind boggling 75% at one point but F430s only saw a 30% rise (the more modest rise is balanced by the fact that they were still depreciating before the market took off).

The big thing that has changed for the F430 is the desirability of the manual gearbox. Four years ago the F1 'box was the favoured choice and manuals traded at a decent discount. Fast forward to today and a manual car is trading at a £40-50k premium. Obviously the rarity of manuals is a big driving factor but the F1 has also lost a lot of love when compared to modern wet clutches.

I thought it might be a bit of fun to call out my top three F430 purchases that I've made over the years...

In third place would be the Nero/Crema F1 Coupe I bought for a client earlier this year for £82k. It had a genuine 12k miles and was wearing its original paint.

Second place would go to the MY08 Nero/Nero F1 Coupe bought for a client in autumn 2015 for £70k. Mid 20k miles (genuine) and fully optioned including race seats.

First place has to go to my own Grigio Silverstone/Nero F1 Coupe that I bought for a mere £55k in November 2013. Genuine 26k miles and original paint (full of stone chips now). It was previously owned on finance and the trade bids were below the outstanding amount (my purchase price being a little over trade so the finance could be settled).

I should also call out the exceedingly astute purchase by a fellow PHr (and subsequent client) of a Red/Tan Manual Spider bought for F1 money right before the whole manual thing went nuts and prices added 50%.

Final note before pasting the data is to say that there is a F430 going through Coys tomorrow so whoever is going to do the bigger and better market watch based on actual sale prices can start there....

I'm really sorry but I simply do not have the time to continue with the market watch. I could never imagine how successful my workshop would become - we're absolutely flat out all of the time. It's not a bad thing but it does mean that I have to be careful how I spend my time and, unfortunately, some things have had to be trimmed back.

If you're in the market for a 360 or F430 then please feel free to drop Harvey a line - we have a good handle on where cars are actually trading and would be happy to spend a few minutes talking through the market with you FOC.

Would you be willing to make your historical scrape data public? Is it scrapes from here or another classifieds site?
I would be open to giving the data to interested individuals with the proviso that any publication of analysis credited me accordingly. If you're interested please give me a PM and I'll dig out what I have.

I never tracked them but should have the raw data.
