Love you to start doing this sort of thing on McLaren 12C.
I think it will be very interesting reading over the next 18 months. Everyone must have spotted the trend on this forum alone
for someone who doesn't give a stuff about the value of their car portfolio you do seem obsessed with talking up mclaren!.....have you got one??I think it will be very interesting reading over the next 18 months. Everyone must have spotted the trend on this forum alone

Everyone on the forum has probably spotted a trend of one person in particular talking them up during almost all other topics, related or not, yawwwwwwn I think it will be very interesting reading over the next 18 months. Everyone must have spotted the trend on this forum alone
You should understand it's not simply about ultimate ability. I wanted a Ferrari so we have a Ferrari. I've always wanted a Ferrari so to choose between a mid-price Ferrari or newer McLaren, the Italian will win every time.
i think you've hit the nail there pal...i quite like the macs......i'm sure they're great drives. my interest was piqued enough last year to go to the showroom in knutsford and have a poke around one.....
i still don't WANT one like i used to burn for astons...bought three of them. times change and so do tastes, i ended up lusting after ferarri 430s and ended up doing it twice. liking and respecting a car is one thing but that x factor that makes you want to buy into the brand is a whole other story.

Great thread Voicey, I read a comment that F430's are on the cusp of rising considerably, something to do with now being 10 years old and that all Ferrari's in recent history share this 10 year phenomenon? The chap that made the statement is so convinced he's bought back it to the F430 model (his words not mine!!!)
Is this just wishful thinking or is there some truth in it?

No just 2 now and I Love them so much I'm thinking about buying the company.Don't forget I had a F430 Spider and 430Scuderia in their day and still have a F355 GTS Manual

i think i've just put 2 and 2 together.... were you the guy with the red lambo something-or-other with the rear wing on it?
Yes, the Gallardo LP 570-4 Spyder Performante Edizione Tecnica (or PET if you can't be bothered with all that). Now perhaps we can all ignore MumboJumbo's intrusion on Voicey' s excellent thread and get back to business?

In my opinion, that's rubbish. Prices are determined by lots of other things and not an arbitrary point in time. When the 360 was 10 years old (about five years ago) prices were going down....Is this just wishful thinking or is there some truth in it?

Sounds like a typical dealer 'upcoming price rise' line.Is this just wishful thinking or is there some truth in it?
Thank you Aldous, interesting as always.
Talking about official dealers' F430s priced below 90/95k, I ve seen they increased the prices on their stock by approx. £6k each, over the last two weeks. Interestingly enough, these are the same 5-6 cars that they took on in mid-December.
So net net, they are increasing prices by a good 7% over a month despite A) the same cars remained unsold for a good 1 month and a half, B) increased supply (i.e. number of cars for sale, see data below) and C) bad seasonality

let's not take into account increased financial market volatility over January, which, let's assume, may put some people off buying...does anyone all the points raised above suggest a pricing re-adjustment in the short-term? or.. am I missing something?

Perhaps they are raising their prices in anticipation of some good weather? I personally think the F430 is undervalued when compared to other Ferrari tipos - if the overall Ferrari market holds at these levels then I think there is room for the F430 to rise more. Just look at what people are paying for a 360....Talking about official dealers' F430s priced below 90/95k, I ve seen they increased the prices on their stock by approx. £6k each, over the last two weeks.
