I'm having trouble starting new threads under my usual user name, hence the different profile.

Anyway I was asked to start collecting 458 prices so I made a change to my program and am now compiling the data. As per the 430 thread I don't really have time to go into this in any real detail but will try my best to provide as much as I can.

For 360 prices see here and for 430 prices please see here.

Please, please don't ask me to start collecting info on any other tipo!

As this is the first month there is no price index. I will be keeping the Coupe and Spider prices separate as they are two very different markets. Also, the prices cannot be divided by gearbox either as there is no choice these days. Note, there were no private ads when I got the data.

Here's the table for coupe prices split by colour.

Here are the coupe prices plotted against year - a trend has already appeared where early cars are priced at a decent discount to more recent ones.

And here's the chart for coupe mileages. Apart from one outlier, there's not really much of a spread and I suspect that equipment and year is more of a driver of price when everything has such low numbers on the clock.

Onto the Spiders - here's the table for colour. This is the first time I've seen a non-red colour with the most number of ads.

Year doesn't really tell us much as they haven't been in production for enough time.

And here are the mileages:

Cheers...

I also collect prices changes and amount of days to be sell, also do you have a marker for LHD/RHD.

I've had this data for about a year, just haven't had the time to do anything with it

Isn't it a service package not warranty. They all have the same warranty.

Yes not warranty on everthing, scheduled maintenance labor along with the relative original spare parts, engine oil and brake fluid. Which over 7 years is a sizeable amount.

Dependant on mileage I'm told the 458 is a cheap car to service. Remember clutches every 20k miles should be a thing of the past.

For the latest 430 prices click here and for the 360 click here.

Post updated 2/10 with the pollution of coupes in spider data resolved.

Coupes first - average prices have actually firmed up very small 0.05% so if I were to start an Aldous Voice 458 Coupe Price Index it would stand at 100.05!

Here are the colours:

Here are the prices plotted against year:

and here are the mileages:

Onto the Spiders - average asking prices have dropped 0.51%. The Aldous Voice 458 Spider Price Index would be at 99.49.

Here are the colours, including a lovely green example:

Here are the years:

And here are the mileages:

Please let me know if I've missed anything or if you want any more info.

Hi, on the spider prices

Green car at 179k is a coupe I think - sounds like the meridien verde zeltweg car - listed on PH as spider incorrectly

Cheapest red spider (and probably cheapest rhd spider) is 185'995 at jct600 - not in data

Given there are coupes listed as spiders maintaining this looks like hard work but many thanks for doing these as they make interesting reading

Thanks - I'll take a look later tonight. The problem is that I don't follow these prices and don't really have an interest in them - I just press a button and the tables and charts are updated with numbers from the classifieds.

If coupes are listed in with the spiders then the ads should be reported!

I've cleaned the data up. There was one coupe in with the spiders - the green one that you pointed out.

The JCT car was in the data but marked as black - the ad had stated Nero for some reason. Also, it is listed at £185,950.

Cheers...

Popped in to a well know Dealers yesterday, where they had a vast array of 458's coupe and spider.
Charming salesman, excellent, enquirer about an 11 spider with 3000 miles, listed at £230 k.....for sale at £210k !,

Knowing that these cars are dumping upto £95k in 8 months, how can they continue to stick at these prices with a showroom fit to burst ?.....

95k in eight months where? apart from 1 over specced car that I'd heard that was nearly 300k so a bit of a over the top.

Whilst there seems to be a pretty strong correlation (age/mileage/price) on the coupes, beta is all over the place on spiders.

Happy new year! For 360 prices please see here. For 430 prices see here. I am also collecting FF prices for a feloow PHr so let me know if you want and data on those.

Coupes: Averages asking prices have dropped another 1.17% MoM, the index now stands at 94.36. The number of cars advertised for sale has dropped by almost a third:

Here is the split by colour:

And here is the chart of mileage vs asking price. There is to much of a spread to gain any real insight.

Spiders: Prices have also dropped again, by 1.58% taking the index to 97.64. The number of cars advertised is broadly the same but lower then when I first started collecting the data:

Here are the colours:

And here's the chart of asking price vs mileage:

Anything else please let me know.

Cheers,

Aldous Voice.

Due to the apparent lack of interest in this thread I am not going to update it in detail (I have much better things to do with my time). However, I will continue to harvest the data and will post up the index on a monthly basis.

Coupe prices have actually increased 0.58% MoM leaving the index at 94.90.

Spider prices have also firmed up 0.93% - index is 98.55.

PM me if you want anything specific.

Regards,

Aldous Voice.

The spring effect has got to push prices up for the next couple of months at least or at least lead to sales.
Amazes me that the same old cars at the same old prices have been sat there since last summer. Dealers must be working on a 6 month trading season and not prepared to reduce to deal. Brave stance to take if you want to remain in business but as the cars get older and more get into the hands of independents the price has got to become more realistic.

MP4 12C and LP Gallardo's are certainly better value for money now

Just like to say that, although I don't post comments, I also find this thread very interesting. Hope you can keep up the good work.
