Just been to Maserati in Leeds. I've been toying with the idea of a Quattroporte. This is a pretty big deal for me and I really want to savour the experience.

I'd like to point out that I've also been to the Manchester branch, which has now given up on Maserati. They were great. They had no stock, but took the time to sit with me and run through options and ideas.
Anyone got any ideas of where would be better for me to try?
Leeds was a horrible experience.
Manchester actually lost their concession, Bowker have replaced them.Just been to Maserati in Leeds. I've been toying with the idea of a Quattroporte. This is a pretty big deal for me and I really want to savour the experience.

What did you turn up in? I guess they expected a serious buyer to at least know the difference between the models? Maybe the salesman was just having a bad day?

The OP effectively retracted most of what he said later and has disappeared. Basic story appears to be that wannabee with Fiesta budget to spend walks into Maser dealership, salesman qualifys him and quickly establishes that the guy is a dreamer who isn't in the market for anything the dealership has. Salesman spends a few minutes chatting with him and wannabee leaves and posts BS on internet. What did you turn up in? I guess they expected a serious buyer to at least know the difference between the models? Maybe the salesman was just having a bad day?

A friend of mine walked into the same garage in a full grey tracksuit, he pulled his hood down as he walked through the door and said "alright love, am I ok to have a quick window shop?" he was treated perfectly fine. Salesmen approached him to talk about the cars despite him saying he's having a window shop.
He thinks the staff were probably bored
Its a very positive experience in contrast, I'd expect the OP was extremely unlucky or set his expectations too high as he knew that he was intending to buy.

No it was the fact he was in a main dealer with a ceiling of 15k to spendHe thinks the staff were probably bored

I do wonder if the OP ever bought a Maser. I'd expect that he would've come back to the thread and posted a pic if so...
I've had similar experiences numerous times at different marques / dealerships..
Being 24 with tattoos and holes in my ears I do get a degree of pre-judgement when walking into the showroom, so I point out the 3 month old car outside I've arrived in and explain I have a monthly budget from my employer so spend on a brand new car.
BMW didn't want to know, which seemed odd given the popularity of the 1 Series, same with Mercedes and the A-class, both delers were simply 'the car's over there, it's open, there are trims available.'
Mazda were excellent when I was considering a new MX5, the Wolverhampton dealer which is nearest to me, grabbed the keys in a second and let me take a test drive, before even discussing numbers. Same with Ford, the girl took me out in a new Focus ST almost immediately.
The best of the bunch, and the one I ended up with, were Mini. I visited a few dealers but in the end bought from the Sytner Group in Sutton Coldfield.. But every showroom I went to was a great experience, very good customer service, spoke to me like a friend more than a potential sale, and had all the time in the world to walk me around the different models, trims, options etc, multiple test drives, finance quotes.. Superb.

Sigh...there is always one. Garbage enough for their sales to be up over 700% on last year, and have enough investment to release a new car in 2013 and to have 2 more cars released over the next 2 years ...i think the garbage is actually coming out of you

People are buying them , they must be good ...i think the garbage is actually coming out of you
Please feel free to buy one , the current range is garbage .( especially when compared to the competition). I have more than enough experience .

Everything they can do the opposition can do better .They are not not sporty enough yet not comfortable enough , they don't handle well enough , they are not particularly good on the typical British road , not as good looking and different as they used to be ( the saloons I mean ), the electronics are a generation behind , they have less space inside than you would think , the quality of fit and finish is merely skin deep , there's seems to be precious little quality for the price, the dealer networks can leave a lot to be desired , the service you get once you buy one is shamed by bentley/ Ferrari etc and finally the 3 maseratis I have owned were terribly unreliable . For me that's just not good enough . These are my opinions based on my experiences , if this is a "you must love Maserati or don't post " thread let me know and I'll stop posting .
