That 288GTO with the CC 1 plate, belonged to Charles Church, the builder. He later sold the plate to The Candy Brothers in West London.

Funny. The first Ferrari I ever saw was a GTO on the number plate CC1. I was 8 and the owner must have seen me nearly wet myself with excitement and let me sit in it. Difficult to forget!

My God.. eventually. This was the first Ferrari I ever saw, I must have been about 10 years old and in London when it was driving infront of us. That car and the reg plate have stayed in my head ever since. I have told countless people over the years about the Ferrari with the "BEG 4 1T" plate.. Now 24 years later it appears on PH :-)
Good memories :-)

Found these great photos on the (awesomely informative) McLaren F1 area over at Automotive Forums, uploaded by Hurstg01 (not sure if he's the original photographer or not?)

Although I think the Harrods livery one pottering around London is somewhat apt! Despite the obvious madness of driving an endurance racer in a busy inner city!

Yep, I'd have to agree, as perverse as it is to see a car with race history and victory (I think after a Wikipedia that is chassis #14) out and about.

'tis still chassis #13R but I think they were taken before Andy bought it. I remember them popping up over on AF when hurstg01 posted them.Although I think the Harrods livery one pottering around London is somewhat apt! Despite the obvious madness of driving an endurance racer in a busy inner city!
What I love the most about seeing #13R and the Harrods car pottering around is that you also see them at VMAX or on the owners tours being blatted around the Alps and such. Much better that they have owners that use them as opposed to the many that keep them hidden away.
